The story is great but the AI reading ruins it. I kept listening because of the story but it was difficult with the narrator

The story is great

It was very difficult to get into this book because of the virtual voice narration. For some bizarre reason the accent was English/British which is totally incongruent with the characters and setting of the book. In addition, it was essentially a monotone with minimal inflection. One would think that a virtual voice would be able to differentiate between characters, but tone and cadence was the same regardless of what was being said and who was saying it. Lastly, there was little to no pause between sections of the book so it was hard to keep track of the story. I barely made it through the first book and I'm just grateful it was free.
