Thoughtful, reasonable, funny, helpful

Lascombe has both a great sense of humour and the ability to be honest, frank, and accurate. She advises and recounts; she does not hector or deride.

Well described common sense ground rules for marriage.

I originally bought this audiobook for my husband and me. However, after unsuccessfully convincing him to make time for us to listen to it together, I decided to listen to it on my own. I’m so glad that I listened to it alone the first time. I can’t tell you how many times I said out loud, “I’ve said this to him so many times already.” I can’t wait to see if he finally “hears” me when we finally get to hear it together. I wonder what part(s) will ring true for him that I’m currently not hearing from him. I loved her humor, her examples and her frankness about her own relationship. I would highly recommend!

Informative and Funny

Such a great book, I love Belinda’s sense of humor and the advice she gives. All of it makes sense and can be applied in daily life. I will be reading/listening to this book again.

Interesting and fun to listen

The book was an easy listen. It was funny and with some good research. The only thing is that it lacked some depth around people’s social location and it’s impact on the union.
