At first, I try to tell myself I can play his twisted games, but as time goes on, he takes over my body, my heart, and now he wants my very soul.

Nikolai Volkov is either going to be my downfall, or my savior, and I don't know which.

Marshmallow from the start

I waited for the audio on this. I like the narrators however the male narrator didn’t make me picture a bad ass mafia guy. Either way the narration was fine.

I wanted to read/listen to this book because I kept seeing an ad for it in my Facebook newsfeed about how the FMC is sleeping alone because she left him because he won’t say he loves her. she smells the MMC in the room and calls out to him in the night thinking he wasn’t there, but he answers her. Sounds super exciting in the ad ….. anyway - while that does happen-ish - it’s no where what the ad made it sound. Not nearly as Dark as the ad made it sound - really not dark at all

Sienna is pretty cool FMC - strong, trying to help her brother without drowning herself. She finds herself in a bad situation….

Excellent Book Narration

This is an excellent audiobook by S.R. Jones which is the dark mafia romance between Nikolai and Sienna. The book has well defined characters, plot twists, secrets, and steamy passion. The audiobook narrators effectively portrayed the characters’ emotions and drama in the storyline.

Could have been better

The book is good and worth the read. But better actors could have made it so much better.

AI narration - very irritating

The book is very good story. I just listened to it again. However now I remember why I did not purchase the other audible books. The narration sounds mechanical. Very irritating.

I really wanted to enjoy this

I'm just not sure on this book. they live in England. FMC is British but uses none lingo or terms used in Britain. I appreciate if you were trying americanize it. would have rathered it be more authentic to where they were located. not feeling the lead male characters voice. just didn't think it fit for the descriptions of the book.

it was an idiotic story 😭I regret time i spent for this.
Main characters are typical: mega powerful bossy mafia guy and immensely beautiful, but poor girl.

I didn't understand why would such a character that was described fell for the girl. the only thing that was outstanding about her was her appearance. I can't recall time, when he was admiring her personality, for god's sake! just hair and body, oh and the fact she likes the same art as him. And he got angry when, surprise surprise, she showed her attitude???? what a joke of a man.

and the problem of their relationship is soooo stupid 🫣 she didn't want to "give in" suddenly because of her feminist views?! seriously, we find out about her being a feminist closer to the end of story, btw, she wasn't described so in the beggining.

Instead of admitting that she is too shallow and selfish to think that people can express their feelings differently, she used feminism as an excuse for .

there's no definition for love. yet, she was still trying to bend him under her own understanding of love. because she is the only one who knows what love is. i hated it.
the only thing I liked was their first night after wedding.

Good story ruined by poor writing

It’s not the worst I’ve ever read/heard but it’s pretty bad. Think of a career criminal explaining his feelings like an emo college kid but then saying how he doesn’t talk about his feelings. The male narrator didn’t help. He had a nice voice for a small town single dad romance- I’d love him in that role. But I couldn’t believe him as scary. Like at all. The plot was inventive though.

Narration was difficult

I finished it, although slightly difficult. the narration was not what you'd think a Mafia man would be but more like a preppy college boy. the FMC was naive to the extent that she was borderline TSTL. the whole I love you but you need to love me the way I want you to love me to be happy. this was a tiktok recommend that I regret.
