The New York Times bestselling author, Oprah’s favorite organizing expert, and America’s #1 problem solver, presents a groundbreaking manual for anyone who wants to enhance performance and efficiency in today’s downsized work world

The New York Times bestselling author of Organizing From the Inside Out, Oprah’s favorite organizing expert, and America’s #1 problem solver, presents a groundbreaking manual for anyone who wants to enhance performance and effiency in today’s downsized work world. This book will help readers achieve the seemingly impossible: boost value and security without sacrificing personal life. Julie Morgenstern, sharing the process she uses with her overwhelmed clients, teaches that regardless of position, industry or work culture, there are nine essential skills that everyone must master to thrive at work. Famous for untangling messes fast, Morgenstern has developed fresh “grab and go” solutions that can be prodessed in as few as fifteen minutes to dramatically improve performance and efficieny, including:

•Avoid e-mail in the first hour of your day--it’s addicitive and steals your most productive time.

• Beware of multitasking--scattering your efforts make for a longer day

• Dance close to the revenue line--making or saving money is where your greatest values lies.

• Trust your truth--never undervalue your unique self, skills and point of view

Morgenstern’s trademark “inside out” approach helps readers diagnose the source of each workplace problem by answering the question: “Is it Me or Is it Them?”

I'm having a hard time enjoying this book. I'm sure it is a great book, but the reader has one of those voices I have a hard time listening to for awhile.

I wish I could return this one

The author speaks very slowly (I had to speed up my ipod for the first tme), so slowly that it is annoying and difficult to concentrate. Her inflection is also difficult to listen to. She raises her voice when there is no question and keeps her voice level when the book is asking a question. I would never want to listen to her read a book again. The content is OK but her voice is so distracting that it detracts from the message.
