This series has been fantastic. Each book just gets better and better and Maddox truthfully blew me away. I really loved the pairing of Maddox and Dee, both damaged by their pasts and not looking for love, but both so worthy of finding love with each other.
Melanie Moreland drew me into the story from the first page; I kept thinking just one more chapter. I loved the characters of Maddox and Dee and all the secondary ones and having already read Bentley, Aiden and now Maddox, I can say that this is one of my favourite series of 2018.
The story was extremely well written, engaging and it was great to see the growth of both Maddox and Dee as the book evolved. Neither Maddox or Dee wanted a “relationship” so friends with benefits suits them both, until it doesn’t.
I really didn’t want to start this book as I have been anticipating reading Maddox since I finished Aiden. Ms. Moreland well and truly delivered a story that had me engrossed from start to finish, not to mention I have a new book boyfriend.
There is so much to love about her characters, the depth and layers that she weaves throughout her stories reminds me of the peeling of an onion, layer by layer and Maddox was just such a book.
The friendships between Maddox, Bentley and Aiden is truly overwhelming, the love , laughter and obvious care they have for one another is swoon worthy in and of itself. Throw in the ladies they love Dee, Emmy and Cami and you have a group of people anyone would be proud to call friends. I know I would love to hang with these people and call them friends.
Swoon worthy

The story started to pick up when Dee started to experience difficulties with the way Cami's life was changing, and how it didn't include her sometimes. I liked that Maddox and Dee grew closer and started to share more info about their pasts. I started to get a sense of the depth of their relationship and the issues that haunted each of them.
The next twist that made the story move along was a blast from Maddox's past. The drama, the crazy, the angst was kicked up a notch. The frustration as Maddox attempted to make stupid moves and the surprising source of advice.
Let me not forget the cake tasting and the wedding planner. That whole scene was enjoyable.
I knew it wasn't over. There was that one final slightly suspenseful twist. To top it off, I was so happy to get the awesome epilogue. (I am a sucker for a goid epilogue!)
A slow start to a book the became an Interesting, mildly angsty and suspenseful book that was full of love, loyalty, friendship, family, and romance.
A Slow Start, but Finished On A High Note
