i really love this story. Christopher really loved her and his devotion was out of this world.

A wonderful ending to the Hathaway series. The story and characters were very relatable. Bea was always a favorite, and it serves her justice to find a wounded soul to heal.

I loved this book. It had all the feels. I was skeptic because there were so few reviews, but it was a gem.

Beatrix Hathaway-Love the Character!

The Hathaways are an interesting and delightful family. Beatrix is the quirkiest of the group. It was fun listening to this book. The story line kept my interest throughout with a surprise ending that perhaps will lead to another book! Rosalyn Landor's narration was excellent as always. Thank you Lisa Kleypas for bringing us more listening entertainment.

Great story

The characters were excellent, found myself laughing out loud and smiling throughout the book. The steam was just okay, Grace Callaway is an excellent writer in that department but overall the story was pretty good but not too much in-depth when it came to pru. Good job

I love this author and narrator a dynamic duo of amazing story telling. such a great 10 hours spent listening to this story.

A surprisingly poignant story for Beatrix Hathaway who is moved to write back to a local soldier, Christopher Phelan, when her friend Prudence Mercer is too busy partying and having fun. He is living through physically and emotionally punishing situation after situation, day after day, and she strongly feels he needs the connection to home. Since Christopher once told a friend that Beatrix was suited to the barn, not the drawing room, she is in no hurry to identify herself as the writer. But she can’t help giving of herself in her letters and he pours part of himself into his letters. When he comes home, this hero avoids the crowds determined to celebrate war. Christopher tries to avoid the unruly Hathaway clan but is quickly drawn in when Beatrix aids his dog Albert in adjusting from war to peace. Along the way, Christopher figures out Prudence could not have written the letters and is devastated and elated when he finds out Beatrix did. Kleypas did a good job writing a believable story of a romance and happiness for the most eccentric of an eccentric family.
Landor did an excellent job of narration.
Recommend the book and series.

So much better than I expected

I loved this series but was hesitant to get this book. Bea was not my favorite character of the group. BUT, I am SO glad I got it. Such a great story and great interplay of the entire Hathaway tribe. This is definitely one to read/listen to multiple times. Only problem with the book...it’s the last of the series. Now I have to find one as good.
