Resumen del Editor

"The Minimalists show you how to disconnect from our conditioned material state and reconnect to our true essence: love people and use things. This is not a book about how to live with less, but about how to live more deeply and more fully." (Jay Shetty, number one New York Times best-selling author of Think Like a Monk)

As seen on the Netflix documentaries Minimalism and Less Is Now

This program is read by the authors

How might your life be better with less?

Imagine a life with less: less stuff, less clutter, less stress and debt and discontent - a life with fewer distractions. Now, imagine a life with more: more time, more meaningful relationships, more growth and contribution and contentment - a life of passion, unencumbered by the trappings of the chaotic world around you. What you’re imagining is an intentional life. And to get there, you’ll have to let go of some clutter that’s in the way.

In Love People, Use Things, Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus move past simple decluttering to show how minimalism makes room to reevaluate and heal the seven essential relationships in our lives: stuff, truth, self, money, values, creativity, and people. They use their own experiences - and those of the people they have met along the minimalist journey - to provide a template for how to live a fuller, more meaningful life.

Because once you have less, you can make room for the right kind of more.

Another GREAT from the Minimalist Duo!!

Preordered this one and was eager to listen...much more than I had imagined or had expected. Not another minimalist approach to clearing out the house of things but one of living more fully in every aspect of our lives. Shared experiences make it real, and do-able. But the big take away is reflection on what truly matters most in this path we call life. Perpetuates personal reflection and motivation towards our best self. Highly recommend!

Give this book a chance!

I would recommend this book to anyone.
This isn’t a book about how to clean out your closet, there are hundreds of those! This asks you, why? And how might your life be better with less? I know one thing... the clutter that is distracting me is taking away my time and attention and is absolutely draining my life. When looking for inspiration, I will listen to this all over again! Thanks Millburn and Nicodumus, this was time well spent.

Taking it to the next level

After the declutter of your things, perhaps you want to take minimalisme to the next level, and for example want to declutter your relationships, health and find meaning in creativity. This book offers a perspective of that.

I follow the Minimalist, and I have read all their books, so some of the content in this book was not new to me, which was fine, while it had a debt, that I have been longing for. And I loved the openharted hornesty in their personal stories.

Thank you!

A very meaningful book that I will listen to more than once, I think that now I understand better where the mininalists come from as they go into details and share all the painful moments of their lives. I wasn't sure if to get the book as I read online their essays and listen to the podcast, but it definitely was something else that was just worth it. Thank you again!

Valuable Lessons & Reflection Questions

Overall, the content has a ton of value. I enjoyed how each chapter went deep into a specific subject matter and plenty of great reflection questions that Ryan prompts you at the end of each. I also love that both Ryan and Joshua narrate the audio instead of someone else. It’s way more palatable to listen to and their voices are soothing just like their podcast.

I’ve given this book 4 stars instead of 5 primarily because the intro and a chapter or two into it were filled with stories and lines I’ve heard them say before many times on their podcast. I was a bit worried that overall this book would feel too redundant and similar to everything I’ve heard on their podcasts (as I am an avid listener). But as the chapters progressed it was more intriguing. There were a few stories that felt a little long winded and a little random but overall it had decent flow. The other reason I’d give it 4 stars is because although I prefer hearing them speak this book versus me reading it, it felt hard to listen to it without having a Pen and paper nearby to jot down notes and answer Ryan’s questions. It feels more like one part learning one part workbook for each chapter which I wasn’t prepared for. Because the content is super informative and there’s things to do and write down at the end of each chapter I wouldn’t recommend this book for the casual audiobook listener unless they plan to just listen and go through it, in one fell swoop. However it is a fantastic book for a book club or a pace where you only read a chapter at a time and then pause, reflect, answer Ryan’s reflection questions and then move onto the next chapter. So depending on how you like to consume books I would take this into account. Since I wasn’t prepared for this type of flow I listened to the whole thing while on my treadmill, while drawing, while walking etc and found myself wanting to write things down but was never fully focused on the book only to be able to do so. But I will be going through it again specifically to go through all of Ryan’s prompts at the end of each chapter.

Overall would recommend! Just be aware that this is more of a self reflection/workbook style read and if you just fly through it you won’t get out of it as much as you could if you slowed down and focused on it chapter by chapter.

written with genuity..

the dialogue about personal relationships was surprisingly insightful.. perhaps an essential read to even the youngest of consumers and young people..
