I am conflicted- but also Yes. Read this

First let me say that the narrator was SPOT on for Hook - but maybe too much? The subject matter is very dark and his intense tone and voice made it even more so. SO that's a good thing! but its also not so good because it was too much .Too much to stay in and not just fall down the well. I had to take breaks. Every few chapters I had to pause the book for several days and then come back.

I suppose all this means is that it wasn't for me right? but it WAS for me. I enjoyed the story, a LOT. I felt like John's abrupt change in preferences was rather unlikely BUT when you take it in after you have finished the book- it fits. Fits quite well actually. A love story that is both unlikely and inevitable.

I recommend this audio but if you are easily triggered be warned- there's very dark childhood abuse themes.

Outstanding story

This is one of the best stories I've listened to in a very long time. The writing is great. A lot of details. I did not listen to book one and had NO problem following this story. The narration is Outstanding. Patrick Zeller is new to me and he brought this story and all of the characters to life and pulled me right into there world. If you listen to MM romance, you need this book. 👏❤🔥

My favorite

This is one of my favorite books ever. I originally read this when it came out and it automatically became a comfort read for me. The dimension between Hook and Jonathan is so complex and so emotional that you get swept away with their love story. The narration was amazing as well. Highly recommend!
