Intriguing

Well written and interesting. The only part that seemed pointless was the Ana story, but that’s my opinion.

Intriguing Series

From first book, The Yard to this Lost and Gone Forever I enjoyed the narration and the mystery of the books. Recommend listening to anyone who enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes collection.

Jack's back!

Another stellar work from Alex Grecian! Just when you think there can't be any more plot twists, another comes along. I've never had a book keep me awake at night trying to figure out what will happen next. This one did! The characters are totally believable and some quite loveable, like Mr. Halfpenny.

By far the best book of the series

I started this series about 1 month ago and fell in love with the characters and the writing. Book 1 is not that gruesome and book 2 is midly so. By book 3 it is full blown guts and gore but the storyline keeps you going. I will stick with this series for as long as Alex Grecian continues to write them. He is an amazing author.

Gruesome as ever

Finding a good detective story without sex and swearing is difficult. I suppose I can bend to a little gruesomeness. That said, this book is very well done and ties up many loose ends left over from the previous book. Grecian never seems to run out of new monsters with which to unnerve us and he leaves us in a good place to bring about a particularly troubling one for his next book. I am glad that he does not play a "Game of Thrones" with us by killing off our heroes, but he still leaves us unsettled from the loss of one of his characters. I only wish he had not taken the one he did or irritate us with male insensitivity toward women. It is barely tolerable that the heroes are slow to pick up clues and lag behind the villains until the very end, but to compound it with male stupidity pushes tolerance to its limits.

Grecian sets a consistent tone throughout his books and the narration of John Curless is excellent in expanding the mood. His narration of Jack is marvelously creepy.

I love this series!

I do prefer the narrator from the first 2 books in the series, but the books are great either way. The stories are great and hook you in so you don't want to stop listening! Highly recommend and can't wait for the next book in the series!

Outstanding book, horrific blood bath, awesome!

Ok, I believe this is the second "five" I've given to this stupendous series.
The narration has extensively improved. I still don't care for how he "voices" Walter's voice, but I've gotten used to it.
Oh, the characters are so interesting in this book. Unfortunately, he killed off one of my favorite characters, but I have a great deal of respect for an author that has the guts to do it.
The plot was very interesting, it moved at a good pace, and the characters were further developed giving each of them more depth.
I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Lose ends

I can't wait to see where Grecian will proceed but i hope he ties up some lose ends. Maybe he never will. I loved every bit of it

This is a fabulous series

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others in this series. The writing and the plot are still outstanding, but the characters, though well written have truly pissed me off! Neville needs a kick in the bottom! And what were you thinking killing off one of my favorite characters! How dare you! I adore this series, Inspector Day is a fabulous hero with a wonderful intellect until it comes to dealing with his wife. She is definitely the more assertive of the two. I love the strong women characters and the fallible men. They are none one dimensional but multifaceted and very real. The mystery and suspense coupled with the forensics history and the Victorian London setting makes this a must read for anyone who loves historicals or CSI stories.

Not very good

Violent for no reason. Hard to know what the purpose of the book was. One mean thing after another
