Another great addition to this series. I like how the author tied in characters from previous storylines!

Wondered where they went

It is important to read the other books (or at least the one before this one) I absolutely love when you get to see characters you love from earlier in the series show up again in this one!

the story and the narrator's delivery was superb and was able to take me out of my hectic day and transport me to a great story!

Love this series!

I love this book! I really enjoy this series, I enjoyed finding out more about two of the other captives from Lost & Found. I hope there are more books/audiobooks in the future following all of the characters in the Mismatched Mates series!

So basically same feelings as the last one, though there was definitely more initially. I was really into their dynamic, though I’m sure it wouldn’t be for everyone. The whole “use me” thing just worked for me, especially given the context. I think while I still would have loved a little more of their relationship, it’s not that it wasn’t there it’s just that most of the time Drew wasn’t in his right mind anyway. I loved them though and I hope we see more of them.

I also loved seeing the previous couples more in this book. It picked up a lot once they made it to them, and it was nice to see more of their growing relationships and personalities. Hopefully that’ll continue with Ash & Drew too!

Super angsty, unique circumstances

The plot is solid. Post-trauma breakout of the torture/warlock testing jail, both main characters have to pretend to be mates, for safety’s sake. Both have mysterious side effects from their recent past (no torture occurs or is described in the story). It is a unique set of circumstances (book blurbs and other reviews describe them). The story is interesting, but gets slow in a few places. The story is mostly character driven, so the plot takes a back seat to the s3xy scenes and character development at times. Disclaimer: I like my books with as little angst as possible. This book overwhelmed me with internal monologues filled with angst and second guessing. If you like the emotional roller coaster, this book would be an awesome choice for you. It has a solidly satisfying happy ending. Chris Chambers seems to be evolving as a narrator, with emotions and character voices unique and distinct. In previous books, breath sounds distracted me, but they were completely absent in this recording and the story played out like a fantastic drama in my ears. Great job Chris!

Sex scenes with minimal story

The first book in this series started out fairly entertaining with a good narrative sprinkled with sex scenes. As the series continues, it becomes sex scenes with a sprinkle of narrative. While it's not the worst thing I've read/listened to, it does make me sad for the story that could have been and is not what I signed up for. Narration was good, but when a lot of characters are in the same room, you could see the limits to the performer's range.

Great writing but somewhat disturbing premise?

I enjoy this author and narrator a lot but the way the character couldn't properly enjoy anything but then was still having sex was just not for me. I also didn't like that while they were having sex the other character was unable to control himself and was being awful. So all around they had it rough. Then I just felt like there weren't enough good times to really feel like they had achieved their bond well. The chemistry just wasn't there.

Least favorite of the series

Ash drove me so crazy I fast forwarded through many chapters. I never do that!!
However, Ash just whined and whined and had so much internal angst it was painful. I know he was tortured both physically and mentally, and I know he deserves compassion. But good grief, his internal dialogue was impossible to cope with. Thus, I fast forwarded AND increased the narration to 1.2 in order to finish the story.
And once Ash and Drew reached a point where much healing had occurred, they still kept up the angsty conflicting conversations. I hate wasting a credit, and liked the other books in the series so I hung in until the final painful chapter.
In my opinion I do not recommend spending a credit on this particular book.
