Love these characters

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this, but it was so good! I love the building of their relatonship and the funny moments between the two MCs. The way they back each other was so sweet.

What can I say about this book it was good,, I enjoy the stories I will listen to other by this author.

SO GOOD

Holy HOT. I actually loved this right away and it didn’t let up. The heat level was perfect, the story was semi simple which just worked. One of my favorites of the series. It should also be said that this could definitely be read as a standalone.

Loved this book; love the narrator

Loved this audiobook. Chris Chambers from Stand By Me was one of my first crushes as a kid so I was predisposed to like this Chris Chambers. He earned my regard on his own merit with Dimitri's voice and accent, and I am in LOVE with Brook's voice. I have a lifelong obsession with voices (it sounds stupid but whatever) and Brook's is UUGGHHH so good. I listen to audiobooks to fall asleep and I will definitely be listening to this one again! I love this book, it makes me laugh, and... I just love everything about it.

One of my favorite works in the series

Loved every second of this book. Hats off to bother author and the voice actor (I may have a thing for Russian accents :)

Narrator speech pattern set my teeth on edge!

Narrator had annoying habit of hitting the "t" sounds so strong it was just unnatural and I couldn't concentrate on the story it was so off-putting. Narrator was not horrible but I'll never buy a book he narrates again.

Felt like a stand-alone

This series has a few books thrown in that are not part of the main overarching plot series. There may be a character referenced from the main series, but I would call them a stand alone or an offshoot. The Alpha Contract is one of these (MC brother is loosely related to the series and is mentioned briefly at the beginning of the book). If you’re looking for more of the Armitage pack or any allies or enemies from the series, you will be disappointed. The story has promise though. It’s a story with a fake marriage and forced intimacy, with begrudging consent on both parties (not typically my favorite situations although Lost and Bound from this series has similar-ish forced intimacy/mating and I loved that book). If that’s your favorite, then this book may be right up your alley! The story is told from one MC’s POV, with zero hints to the other MC’s thoughts, other than references to him shutting down, a few brief descriptions of actions that show what he’s thinking/feeling, or what his actual words are. I assume Grayson did one POV to add to the mystery and unveiling of his attraction, but it didn’t click with me. It is hard to write an excellent story using a one person POV. I think it was an interesting book, but it just didn’t hold my attention as well as others. I do have to say that I’m an ardent fan of series rather than stand alones, as they help me connect with the world the author has created and the family that is being highlighted in each story. In a series, you Jones for the next story because you’re invested in the overarching series plot and characters. This story had zero to do with the series overall, which seriously disappointed me, and it was not my favorite. Chris Chambers did a good job distinguishing the character voices, and his Russian was great! The way he overly enunciated the word ‘didn’t’ aggravated me after listening for several hours. His narration was decent, and could be better with a bit more inflection as to add a tad more drama and less straight reading. I didn’t feel the emotion of the situations at times.
