unrealistic ro say the least

While I can relate to the stages described in losing vision gradually and the loan that goes along with this, the rest is useless. this author makes it seem as if ones self worth is defined by being able to have a career when this is not E W a list for most blind people. most of us do not have resources to travel to seminars, gurus , etc. I have taken up painting as well since losing my vision but unlike this author I have not been able to go to multiple art c'asses. basically this book just alternated between boredom and anger.

All Employers should read this book

Where does Losing Sight, Finding Vision rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was very impressed with this story and found myself starting to slow down to savor it more. We all have problems to overcome and that is part of life. This story tells the author’s story in a way that takes the reader along with her on every twist and turn. I also think employers that want to hire and retain talented persons with disabilities could gain a lot from listening to this book. The wisdom that she provides along the way to the readers is invaluable. This story needs to be heard. I highly recommend it.

What did you like best about this story?

Powerful Wisdom for Corporate America trying to understand how to include everyone including persons with disabilities in their workforce. I have read a lot of books about a person walk to find themselves. This book tells a great story of hardship, problems and over-coming major obstacles. I believe that one of the greatest value maybe for employers to understand that disability is part of life. Talented, qualified people in your organization may acquire a disability. You should support them to help them be productive. Also you will learn how to be a better employers for the rest of the team.

Which character – as performed by Teri Schnaubelt – was your favorite?

Teri did a great job with this book. She has a lovely voice and keeps the readers attention the entire time. I loved how she told Sheridan's story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was impressed with the story. Sheridan takes a challenging situation and learns how to thrive despite the situation changing all the time. It made me laugh, cry and cheer for her. I believe we can all benefit from reading the great wisdom in this book.

Any additional comments?

Anyone trying to get their hands around their life will benefit from the wisdom contained in this book. I am already applying a lot of her advice to my life. I believe this should be mandatory reading for all employers, managers, HR representatives and Diversity Managers. The story shows how a talented employee goal is to be the best employee possible. It is a powerful read and I highly recommend it.
