The biblical parallels

This incredible journey, of a family that walks a spiritual road to honor their families responsibility of guarding a priceless Christian Artifact for thousands of years is an amazing read.

Reading characters becoming aware of spiritual warfare.

The voice of the reader didn’t enhance the story’s development and some of the scenes seemed too long.

Honesty

I honestly loved the book because it introduces the reader to the real dangers of the spiritual warfare of being a true Christian and a child of God. Yes any Christian can tell you that nothing is more powerful than the name of Jesus and it is true, but this is a more realistic approach to the struggles we have every moment of every day.

Great story bad narration

I felt like I was back in high school praying for the end of class because the teacher made class so boring.

Good adventure story

Did not like the predominance of “relic worship” theme. The theology of bringing the old covenant into the new covenant age was also disturbing to me.

Confused by other reviews

I took a gamble and so glad I did! One person said it was slow moving, I didn’t see it that way. There are a number of characters and back story. So- it takes a hot minute to get to the meat- but made the story that much richer! And someone claimed not to read if you were a Christian. I am one, and proud of it, but not sure what was so ‘bad’? There were numerous excerpts of sermons that kept you engaged, the overall message of Christ and what He did for us is shared throughout. There is spiritual warfare all around us and this was a book presenting a hypothetical battle. I’m pleased I took the chance. Fixing to read the next one in the series. It’s hard to find ‘good’ Christian fiction unless you are all about romantic love stories. If you want to see more books in this genre, you gotta be willing to support the authors out there writing it! ❤️

Clunky and boring

Most of the way through the second chapter and totally giving up on this book. The writing seems very clunky and the narrating paced speaking is highly annoying to me.

So so slow

I was excited to read the book initially. But the storyline is so slow so many irrelevant details just couldn’t even finish it. Don’t waste your money.

Too slow moving

For me, the story moved too slow and there was too much preaching. I'm a Christian and very familiar with the Bible - I have read through the entire Bibke more than once. For me, way too much time was spent on preaching. I got bored. I don't generally get bored during audio books, and I read a lot of different genres. I needed the story to move faster and get to what the main theme is. I found myself getting frustrated with the story not moving forward. I got about 3/4 of the way through before I stopped.

I wanted to enjoy this, but

as a Christian I could not. This is sci-fi not biblical. The first 7 chpts are boring because the narration is so bad. No where near Peretti's work which is much better.
I gave it a chance but it is a waste.
