It puts Peter in a much different light. Explains a lot. It kind of makes you understand why he did the things he did. Helps you understand Peter and softens the way you see him.

A Stunning Prologue To The Series (Spoilers)

What did you love best about Letters to Elise: A Peter Townsend Novella (My Blood Approves)?

I finally feel like I know this character, Peter. In the books that chronologically follow - the story of Alice and his brother (who he made), Jack. he comes across and angry, mean and agonized. In this book his humanity finally breathes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Peter is the protagonist and I like him because he always acted with the best intention, but I'd favourite Elise. She is his first love, his friend and confidante beyond the grave, in many ways his moral compass.

What about Hannah Friedman’s performance did you like?

I only gave 4 stars because I was hoping for a male narration. She did an excellent job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I think my eyes got wet once or twice, when he went home to a dead Elise and when he spoke of Alice. If you're a hopeless romantic, you'll love this book.

Any additional comments?

I would like to read the entire Blood Approves story in Peter's words. As a more 'mature' reader his perspective is mature and refreshing. Hocking's prose finally flows fluidly when she writes in his character's words. He is her muse.

I Loved the honesty that flowed thru, yet I cried praying for it to end differently.

Which character – as performed by Hannah Friedman – was your favorite?

Hannah Friedman is 100% superb in bringing all the characters to life and I am unable to choose only 1.

It would be a GREAT loss to pass up the "My Blood Approves" series. I have personally listened to the series several times.

Best one so far

I’ve been invested in the my blood approved series since it first came out. I gave up on them when I had to wait for a new one to come out but with Covid I e been listening again. I loved this one the best it has great flow and story!

Peter was always one of my favorite characters, even before I had a deeper look into his past. Now I really love and feel for him. I wish there could be a new series with a true love and some happiness for him.

yes, I would. It's short, easy to listen to and a great love story. I enjoyed it.

The love story was told very well. A pure romance.

She did a good job with the narration.

No....but it did make me happy and brought up memories.
