Excellent Read

Great read!! Gives an awesome perspective on military leadership and corporate America leadership. Highly recommended.

I wish that I had read this earlier

I have been through various leadership schools in the military and private sector but nobody ever talked about the need of leading your leaders. This book provides anecdotal accounts of figures in political and military history whose ability to lead up determined the fates of countless others. This book is a broad brush view into the area of how leaders can effectively manage the ones they are tasked with following. I think this is a good read for anyone in management or with a desire to get there.

Should have stopped after Chapter 7

Overall, a VERY, VERY good book. Engaging. The stories help to cement the point that he is teaching. I will remember the points forever. The book kind of fizzled at the end. He should have left out chapter 8 altogether. I’m a religious person, so I don’t mind references to the Bible, but I think the points he was trying to make were a bit of a stretch. I felt he was trying too hard. If he would have stopped after chapter 7, it would be a 5/5 stars in all categories.
