Resumen del Editor

Laurel Falls, the third book in the Benjamin Drum trilogy, brings the wandering protagonist home to find himself at last, and a new generation takes up his quest for the Real. Some familiar characters and a few fresh faces throng together to complicate and resolve Drum's journey. Love prevails and unity is restored, but not without some spell-binding and spell-breaking trials and errors. Secrets are bared and riddles solved, but during the last minute, the High Balsams, mountains mysterious and alluring, still loom constant over all. Is this really the end, or another beginning?

Story Complete?

I received this ARC via audiobook boom and offer my own review of the story. This is the third story in the Benjamin Drum story. The one line I liked the most was, "Don't bait a fairy. Is this the end or just the beginning or does life wind itself into a circle where you meet your younger self as you complete your older self?

Review: This is a review of the Audiobook version of:Laurel Falls (The Benjamin Drum Trilogy Book 3)

I always like to preface any reviews I give with this information.

I am a 68 year old female who has been an avid reader since I was around 10 or 11 years old.
I read primarily for pleasure.
I have a great many interests and do a lot of research for personal pleasure and knowledge as well.

Review:
Once again, I listened to this audiobook several times, (3 in fact) before attempting this review.
I will tell you that this series of books is unlike any I have ever listened to, or read in my life.

I know that I do not fully understand all the nuances of this amazing series.

Benjamin Drum is a boy/man/elder man who weaves in and out of time and life on many different lifelines and lifetimes. This book is a continuation of the story of his lives before, during, and after his time spent in a magical place outside of time, known as Laurel.
It is also a continuation of the lives of those he has met and loved, and meets along his journey in these different threads that are woven.

This book speaks to me of the differences of our humanity and how some of us; actually most of us are not living, but merely existing, living a grey existence that is unlife, but not death.

While I would not say this is a "religious" book, it is a very spiritual book. This entire trilogy is.

This book is about being aware of all life and our responsibility to it. It is about the learning process of finding what is truly important, of what truly lasts, and it is not this puny existence in this realm only; but an unending and infinite cycle that goes ever onward.

We must be able to see the message in the mess that we call our lives and this book shows some wonderful examples and specifically of one man who must wander through lifetimes until he finds his true place. That is a journey I believe we all are on.

On the surface this book, and this trilogy can be read as a fantasy, but there are hidden depths and gems so deep that if you see them, you will be illuminated by the light.

Author Henry Mitchell once again has woven a tapestry of life as a continuing and learning journey that is never ending. These books are lights that shine in the darkness and I have been illuminated by that light.

Narrator Wayne Paige has once again ensnared my mind with his wonderful voice acting. I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks over the course of years and there is something about this man's voice, some quality that is felt, that I can't adequately express in words, but he is someone whose work I would listen to given any opportunity.

I believe this book would be enjoyed by anyone from the age of 13 and above. I believe in my other reviews I set the age higher because of the maturity of life factor, but this book and all in the trilogy could be enjoyed by children even if they don't grasp the deeper meanings within.

If you let them, these books can change your awareness of life.
