Lady Macbeth - an unexpected and successful point of view

I loved the detailed and vivid details of Lady Macbeth and thoroughly enjoyed the creativity of the storyline. The reader's accent and voice were exceptional and succeeded in drawing me into Scotland's past. I especially appreciated the witches' voices.

Ava Reid really did her thing with this one! A Shakespearean retelling like no other. A marvelous read—one that envelops you and transports you into the story’s universe. Roscille is a strong woman who uses other strategic methods to devise plans and take control instead of using brute force; she is clever—a woman who thrives in a male dominated society. I really enjoyed this novel. It was just what I needed.

Lady Macbeth is wonderful gothic mythical take on Shakespeare’s original. I thoroughly enjoyed the writing and progression of the story.

Amazing tale

I’m not familiar with Shakespeare, so I thought to use this as an introduction. The story is incredible, but the language is so much more accessible than my earlier attempts to read Macbeth. Now I will try the original, with this version under my belt. Lively narration as well!

Lady Macbeth Retelling

Starts off as a kind of mystery novel, evolves into dark fantasy storytelling. Not what I expected but pleasantly surprised overall.

Not as Expected

Honestly sad that Lady Macbeth felt so weak and helpless. ...I love Reids prose, but this one left me disappointed. I probably won't re-read this one.

Verdict- Pity, this was a highly anticipated one for me

Too much abused women

Not the story I had hoped for No real history. All about abused women and how they fight back. Interesting and a few mythical elements are interesting but unfortunately myth does not stop abuse. Lovely voice kept me listening

Lots of plot holes

I really enjoyed the first half. The plot holes started to emerge in the third act and never really resolved themselves.
