Truly a needed material

The book is educational, jam-packed with scientifically accurate facts, and written, and narrated in a manner that is very helpful. It clarifies a lot of ideas and concepts that are new to me. One of the most useful ideas is the ability to notice the stages of dementia and if my forgetfulness is something I need to worry about. I had always thought that dementia comes with only old age and involves just forgetting things but knowing the stages helps to be on the lookout for the signs. I also like that there are several great plans discussed for seeking and getting help. Truly a needed material.

Ugh such a hard topic!

Ugh, dealing with a loved one that is struggling with memory loss is so hard, especially for the caregivers. This book was a quick listen and packed full of great information! I found having the author's personal experience with her mother in the book so helpful and easy to relate to.

Encourage You To Listen To This

This book is full of information on dementia and old age and what is the difference. The more I listened the more it took me back to my mom's journey through dementia. I encourage everyone to read this, if not for now then in the future. We will all face this issue at some time in our lives through family or friends. Highly recommend.

A great resource and guide

This is obviously written by someone who has been a caregiver for a loved one with Alzheimers. The author shares the support and information like phone numbers, websites, and basic facts, and describes clearly how to tell the difference between ordinary mild memory loss, Alzheimers, and other forms of dementia. The author also tells how to cope with the overwhelming concerns one must face in caring for the person suffering from Dementia. This is a well-narrated book that would be a good place to start the search for information if you or someone you know has begun showing signs of significant memory loss. I recommend it.

Therapy for dementia caregivers.

Dementia is the loss of cognitive functioning, thinking, remembering, and reasoning to such an extent that it interferes with a person's daily life. Now here it is noted that the loss of memory with age and dementia are both not the same. Dementia is caused due to less brain functioning.

I really found this book effective because it is totally about dementia, its cure plus severe effects on the human brain.

Along with it the writer, also explains about the diet plan which we need to take in our daily life so that we will not targeted by dementia in later life.

Overview of dementia basics

This is a good brief introduction to the basics of dementia, the stages of dementia's progression, issues to consider for their caregivers, and resources for family members. Everyone who is caring for a loved one with dementia should know these basics and this book would be a great place to start. I especially liked the personal stories and anecdotes of the author's experience with their mother, which were authentic and heartwarming. Would recommend.

Hopeful Resources

I know from personal experience how devastating it was when my mother sometimes forgot who I was and did not realize I was her daughter. I wish I had this book during those years, but this audiobook is a wonderful resource going forward with other members of our family, having the knowledge during these times to determine the difference between old age forgetfulness and dementia.

Dementia or Not?

Caring for someone with dementia can be a daunting task, as both patient and caregiver may feel lost. Yet we must stay strong to provide the best care possible. This book is an invaluable resource - where you can draw upon not only research-based information but also the personal experience of another who has taken this journey before you: providing assurance that we are never truly alone on our path toward helping those whom we love most through such trying times.

Very informative!

Spot on information about dealing with dementia. I especially liked the information on how food can affect the brain. My father passed away from Alzheimer’s two years ago and I know what it’s like to deal with dementia. All the information is extremely helpful. This is a great book for caregivers.
