There's no such thing as a cyborg vacation in the fourth installment of this action-packed sci-fi adventure from the author of the Victor of Tucson series.

Juliet Bianchi used to be a lowly scrap scrounger in Arizona. But when she was accidentally implanted with a beyond-awesome AI chip, her life changed dramatically—what with all the nanotechnology, bodywork, and other badass enhancements. Now, she's a high-powered weapon-for-hire in hiding as . . . what else? A not-so-lowly scrap scrounger!

When a new gig calls for her to climb aboard a swanky cruise ship on its way to Io, Juliet is more than happy to live the high life for a little while. And it gives her a chance to test out her latest upgrades, which just so happen to include telekinesis and mind-reading. Unfortunately, with great power comes some sort of responsibility.

Because when Juliet tries out her new mental mojo on a crowd of passengers, she picks up some unwanted intel. It seems there's an assassin onboard who's on their way to make a hit. Juliet will have to balance being a cold-blooded mercenary herself with stopping a fellow killer. And then things actually get complicated . . .

The fourth volume of the hit cyberpunk series—with more than a million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Was able to listen to the entire book without feeling as if it ever slowed down. Narration is fantastic and found myself hanging on for one more chapter more than a few times.

Nonstop interest

This was so good I couldn’t put it down! Only complaint was the mispronunciation of the word Athenry. But that’s neither here nor there. All in all this book had so much world building and left me with more questions than I went in with. I will eagerly await the next book. This series has climbed its way into my top favorites and I don’t see that changing.

Wow just wow

If you like the one that came before, then you will like this one too. It's like really great extension of Bladerunner.

As good as the others

The adventures of Lucky once again entertained! Some close calls and a clear sign that her enemies are still sniffing for blood.

Best part of the series so far

A great addition to the series. I’m left wondering what kind of trouble our main character will get into next.

Ramping up the tension

Plum Parrot makes fantastic books, at least by Royal Road standards. However, if you're looking for something as subtle and rich as William Gibson, Richard K. Dick, or their modern contemporaries, you'll be sorely mistaken.

Plum's prose is blunt, favoring telling over showing. Granted, there's a time for telling, but Plum overdoes it. It seems like a solid quarter of his prose is just undisguised infodumping. Unlike trad-published prose, little is left to the imagination. Plum doesn't let you figure anything out on your own. The book just tells you bluntly what's happening.

But that's not necessarily a bad thing. While it smacks of first-draftness--because it is; Plum grinds out several chapters per week--it's also easy to read or listen to, and the quality isn't bad per se. Plum's books work best as palette cleansers. If you just finished reading something heady, something that makes you think a lot, Plum's books can be a welcome reprieve. Just don't expect him to re-define the genre or pose any deep questions about the human condition.

Oh, and Suzy Jackson makes these books come to life. I can't wait to hear her Neon Dust performance.

A great first draft, a great palette cleanser

Narration as spectacular as ever. Story felt like setup for the next book but still maintained excellent quallity! The chemistry between J and Angel gets better every book
