I gasp as my body curls toward Brennus like a flower to the sun, for the pleasure of it. He holds me close to him. His nose grazes the length of my neck. He breathes me in. I feel the roar and rush of my heartbeat. I'm his toy; his energy streams into me. He winds the invisible key in my back, and the euphoria ratchets and coils inside of me.

Another wicked surge of energy flows from him into me. Pain. Pleasure. Bliss. My jaw unclenches as my lips part. I make a small, breathy sound as we dance. Brennus responds with something close to a growl. "Ye're killing me, mo chroí," he murmurs. His hand moves down my back, infusing me with a golden glow of power. My wings punch violently from me, tearing a hole in my day dress. They spread wide, like a red stain beyond my pale skin. I'm dancing now for the thrill of it. I follow his lead.

Change in Narration

I love the story, however when listening to this book after the first 4 I was disappointed to discover the voices of the characters had changed from the first 4.

Very Surprised!

I was very surprised, but then again I should of known. Everything I have read in the past written by Amy Bartol has been really well written.

Thank you for the wonderful ride!

This series is now a favorite! It offered hours of endless love, action and laughter. I was transported to another world free of and worries or cares. I pray that Mrs Bartol will continue this series bc I believe there are still many stores left untold!!! May the heavens grant me that miracle! Lol 😂

Best Series I've read in a while!

I simply adored the story line and the unique view to such old stories. The "not vampires" were my favorite!
Around book three I wanted to strangle the Heroin because I'm Twilight scarred hahah. I clearly am not comparing the two- just to say I loathe a wispy washy love story.
But!
These sagas are poles apart and the redemption story as Buju says- "the full has never been told".
Love it love it love it!
The last book had me in tears whilst jogging yesterday morning.
A brilliant writer and the narrators is amazing with her accents!

Final book but ending left me hanging for more...

I love this series as there was so much action, depth in the characters and made me addicted to book after book...This final book, however, was great at first, explaining Evie’s role and all the family members but the end was disappointing....it sort of let me hanging and wish there was an epilogue to wrap things up with a bow. It left some gaps as to what her real role is...

Great end to a fantastic series!!! Fantastic just like the other 4 books. Hope to hear more from this world.

Emily Woo Zeller has a wonderful range of voices that really bring the characters to life as individuals!

Sad it ended

Amazing series,
I need a Reed,Brenaus and Russell in my life. Wish there was a sequel about Fairy with Evie , Reed , Bren the angels and fellas…. That’s would be epic!!!

War is Hell... so is leaving this series behind...

This was a worthy ending to a fabulous series. I thought Ms. Bartol did a great job explaining things and tying up loose ends. The only threads left hanging were of an angel and a Gancana. I would have liked to have seen those threads tied up better but overall I was thrilled with the conclusion. Anything less than the ending she gave to us would have left me feeling angry and cheated.

Many reviewers thought Brennus's "change" was a bit much but I thought it worked well and was fitting. I do wish the new characters that were introduced would have been hinted at in the earlier books but the reasons why they weren't were believable.

The battle into Sheol was climatic and emotional. At least for this reader.

I wish I could find another series as well written as this to listen too. I like the HEA and sometimes that is hard to find. I enjoy books with mystery, love triangles, and surprise twists that still make sense. This series had it all. I will be suffering "book hangover" for awhile...
