Resumen del Editor

#1 WORLDWIDE BESTSELLER • Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon awakens in an Italian hospital, disoriented and with no recollection of the past thirty-six hours, including the origin of the macabre object hidden in his belongings.

“One hell of a good read.... As close as a book can come to a summertime cinematic blockbuster.” —
USA Today

“A diverting thriller.” —
Entertainment Weekly

With a relentless female assassin trailing them through Florence, he and his resourceful doctor, Sienna Brooks, are forced to flee.

Embarking on a harrowing journey, they must unravel a series of codes, which are the work of a brilliant scientist whose obsession with the end of the world is matched only by his passion for one of the most influential masterpieces ever written, Dante Alighieri's The Inferno.

Dan Brown has raised the bar yet again, combining classical Italian art, history, and literature with cutting-edge science in this captivating thriller.

I felt like I was in the book!

I absolutely loved it and did not want to pause the audio book for a moment! I'm a huge fan of Dan Brown and was a little worried that the audio book experience wouldn't be quite the same, and it was actually much better than I expected! You can still use the imagination factor of picturing the sets and still feel the excitement of what's coming next.

Dan Brown delivers again.

Would you listen to Inferno again? Why?

I doubt that I would listen again, but not because it wasn't a good story. There are too many books, so little time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Inferno?

The scene that unfolds in the hospital and the pursuit that follows.

What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?

He was a good narrator with perfect inflection and timing. He was skilled at bringing each of the characters to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not especially. Overpopulation sounds a little scary.

Amazing author with a great story line

Loved this book...but I have yet to find a Dan Brown book I haven't enjoyed.
Interesting intelligent and it keeps you wondering all the way through.
The narrator is also first rate. I love the soothing quality and flexibility he shows.

It's what you'd expect from a Dan Brown book

This book is exactly what you expect it to be, the same formula we've seen before. A fast-paced race to find modern secrets in ancient things, a pretty girl who isn't what she seems to be and piles of miscommunication and misdirection to lead the way.
Some of the characterizations are rather trite, but I only rolled my eyes a couple of times.
What I want to know is why is this still entertaining? Because it is, I just don't get why.

Typical Langdon construct a bit aged

This is another in the series of the brilliant Robert Langdon, professor of symbology. I'm a sucker for Dan Brown's Langdon series, set in historic locations, his twist on art, artifacts and architecture as clues, and his development of intricate conspiracies, it's all first rate fun. But the construct is getting a bit old. As usual Langdon is thrown into a world of international intrigue, with mysterious figures, cults and underworld organizations determined to unleash evil. As usual, there is an attractive and skilled woman who teams with Langdon to solve the mystery. As usual the twists and turns have you wondering and questioning who is good, and who is bad.

It follows in the tradition established since the first book; Angels & Demons, and it is a worthy read that continues to thrill. It was especially fun reading it while being locked down in the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world. Very apropos. As a mystery novel, it is fun and gripping enough to keep you interested and turning pages. But Dan Brown needs to change the narrative a bit and try something a little different with Langdon. The formula was successful, especially in the first two novels in the series, but now in the fourth it is a bit too predictable. Still fun, but predictable.

Dante Inferno

The narator did an excellent job in the dialect of the Italian language and speaking the parts. Over all book was terrific. Keeep you hanging on like all of Dan Brown's novels.

Dan Brown again but not as Inspired

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Eeh. I was not quite captivated by the tale. It fit the Dan Brown formula story, but needed to be expanded.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I enjoyed the story, but it lacked the thought and inspiration I expect from Dan Brown. The story was fast paced and exciting, but missing something deeper.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I enjoyed the way the narrator used inflexion to bring out excitement. The narrator did a good job distinguishing between character voices.

Was Inferno worth the listening time?

It was an appropriate length.
