Robert Brockway has a talent for binding to the absurd to pathos so deep and so affecting that it sneaks up on even the most jaded adult. The story is wild and silly and full of fun and danger like a kid's imagination should be. There's also a heart sickness in it that runs throughout, the story of an adult who could never quite leave childhood behind and never quite wanted to. I can't recommend it enough. Extra kudos to the reader who was absolutely note-perfect for this book.
