Concise overview

This was a good, to the point, overview of Swedish history. A lot of great information I didn't know. It didn't go too in depth on the topics, which is what ai was looking for. Any of the topics that stuck with me, I can now look for topic specific books.

Great telling of a long history

I really enjoyed this book. One area I would have personally loved to heard more about was the mid 1800s, which is when so many Swedes left and went to America (including my great-grandparents & most of their family that they worked to bring over — one at a time over 20 year.)
There is an indication that a change of leadership and mentality around religion and government happened during that time - but more details on our more “recent” history would be greatly appreciated.
The rest of the book was great with interesting facts and details not usually told with such intrigue.

Not what I thought after listening to the sample.

Heavy in the ancient times (80%) to world war (15%) to a brief current events summary for the last 15 minutes. Disappointed at how much they skimmed

Nice short introduction to the Swedish History

This is a short introduction to the history of Sweden. Now I will like to get a more profound book about the last 300 hundred years of Sweden

Great overview of Sweden

I was very impressed with the introduction to the history of Sweden in this book. I now have a desire to explore the history even further.

More of a wikipedia page than a book

Some interesting tidbits in this very, very brief outline of some of the events in Swedish history, with some diversions into railing against Christianity. Cuts out hundreds of years to save time, then spends five minutes discussing a queen’s sex life.
