Love this book!

First of all I love Scarlett Scott! Her books are so captivating.
I read this book such a long time ago and when I found it on Audible! I had to listen to it. I enjoyed this storyline. It’s sad, then romantic, second chance romance.
I hated Simon and then I loved him! It’s just such a great listen 🎧 ❤️🔥

Light read

This is a good read(listen). It had some normal hallmark movie style drama without being over the top, which made it easy and pleasurable to listen to. It had some steam, so if your not ok with that then this may not be the book for you. The narrator did a good job with the voices of the characters, do know in advance the narrator does have a lisp and while it didn’t bother me as a former teacher, it may take some getting used to for some.

The suicide

I didn’t like how the suicide was not dealt with. The ending made no sense. How was he so impacted by the suicide with the last scene of him holding his mistress and then he’s going back for her in the end. It made no sense. What happened with the mistress’ husband? How did the husband just accept the suicide at the liver’s residence? None of it made sense. It was a big disappointment!

Please!

Could you give Maggie a backbone? I know it was a different time but letting your husband’s mistress stay in your home with you there and hearing them together in his bedroom and you do nothing. That stupidity alone made me knock off 2 stars. If you like a story with a spineless heroine then go for it. I thought the narrator was good.
