Okay

This story had potential but the female lead was too forgiving, succumbed to her wayward husband’s sexual advances too much plus too much sex for a short book. Would have liked to have more conflict with the father & male lead , and having more proof of changing his lifestyle. Also would have liked to hear more from his opera singer lover’s attempts to get him back. I think probably book too short to build real interest by the reader.

Not as good as as newer novels

My first Scarlett Scott novel was a more recent publication. While this isn’t a bad novel, she’s clearly that she has gotten so much better in the last 10+ years since this was published. Parts of it drag a bit with predictability, especially as it neared the end. I kind of wanted to speed the pace up.

Now the good! It’s moderately spicy & you don’t have to wait long to get to it. Despite some predictability, the story itself was fairly unique.

And lastly, the narrator/performer is great. She’s actually one of my favorites.

Acceptable

The story is fine, although it takes too long to actually begin, with all the internal monologues.
The narrator has a speech defect, which becomes annoying, at times. She doesn't have much range, so there is not much difference between voices. The American accent is acceptable, probably because there is not that much spoken by her at any one time, so it doesn't become too grating.
Not sure it is worth a credit, if you need to pay for it.

disappointed

it was a ok story and the narrator did ok but the leading lady got on my nerves so bad with her childish actions. and i had to fast forward her stubborn and childish actions. They got on my nerves so bad i had to fast forward so I didn't slap or throw my phone. cause I wanted to slap her and tell her to grow up. sorry not my favorite.

Loved the story

This book really tells how much work a marriage is or can be. I’m moving on the book 2

Interesting

Not so much the book as to say the turn out is the same just taking a different direction

Sub par despite promise

The heroine seemed promising at first, but within a chapter or two, the willful character became weak and far too forgiving. The hero was confusing. I wanted to see him have to fight harder and see them find a new blossoming relationship worth saving. There were aspects of the story or ideas that could have been better implemented.

Tough to listen

I liked the story, which I had read it instead of listened. The narrator has a lisp and it made it hard to focus on the story, I might dig up physical copies to get the rest of the books in the series. I liked the narrators cadence and performance, but the lisp was hard to get into.

Decent story, a bit iffy on the "American" accent

in general, it's a cute story with some steamy scenes.
the only downside is that whenever the narrator attempts the American accent, it just comes off as a bizarre mixture of Irish meet British verbiage and a bit cringe (which is unfortunate because the main female character is an American). it is very clear that the narrator is unfamiliar with American / NY accent, and it may have been less cringe and a bit easier to listen if she just didn't attempt to do the accent at all.

Okay read

I enjoyed the story as much as I could. It started out good the telling was OK. It just got a little long for what it was.
