Thoroughly Enjoyed

I am enjoying this series so far. The characters are interesting and their background makes them who they are. This book is also steamy. Rosalyn Landor does a nice job for the men's voice.

Heartless Duke

May be my favorite in this series. I love how it brings in the book.about her half sister which is dead some time back. Her half.sister Daisy.

SO AMAZING UNTIL THE END!!! YOU GET HOOK AND THEN BAM! IT JUST KEEP GIVING AND GIVING... I TOTALLY LOVE THI BOOK AND PERFORMANCE/

I wanted to like it

I knew it was going to be an uphill battle for me to like the heroine after she put a gun to a child’s head (and the “it wasn’t loaded” is the dumbest rationalization of all time). The heroine is clever and strong-willed, but it becomes early very early on that she’s not smart enough to realize the villains who had two men brutally murdered aren’t trustworthy. Furthermore, her constant refusal to trust Leo (said Duke in question) and continually break her word to him— even after knowing his severe and understandable trust issues made it impossible for me to root for her. She betrays him time and time again and then expects him to really believe she loves him. She didn’t sell me on that— and I can hear her thoughts!
Leo, on the other hand, I really felt for. A man with a horrible back story with serious depression. He thinks he’s found a kindred soul. Too bad she betrays him and leaves him.
Honestly, I’d rather Leo had met a truly lovely woman at the end and left his wife to prison. I wish the author had had the heroine actually put some trust in him outside the bedroom. Alas, she doesn’t and the love story is unsatisfying for it.

And there is a truly nonsensical thing that happens at the end. He leaves his wife, the wife who held a gun to his nephew’s head (major trauma there) at his brother’s house to live with his nephew. Why would his brother allow that? Why would the author want to show all the characters in this story care not a wit about the boy? And then the brother comes to argue for the woman who held his son at gun point and was going to hand him over to a man who was going to kill him?? It made me wonder if Clay even likes his son or Leo his nephew.
Rosalyn Landon is fantastic as always (though I don’t like her American accent). She’s always worth the listen.

Turned out well

So, I was initially VERY skeptical of this love story. The start to Bridget and Leo's relationship was unbelievable...even by romance novel standards. I doubted the author's ability to bring them together in a persuasive manner. But, for the most part, I would say she managed to pull it off. Of course, there are lots of holes in the story, and the author relies far too heavily on sex scenes. But, as always, Rosalyn Landor, helped bring the story to life and made it really enjoyable.
