No plan is perfect. No haven is safe.
Splicers, genetically cloned soldiers, are killing Imperial citizens—and Siena has just released the vid to the public, sending shockwaves throughout the Empire. As anger escalates into rioting, she sees an opportunity. The Alliance, cobbled together from outcasts and outlaws, could become a refuge for dissidents. With the help of the infamous Ghost Queen, she makes a daring play, and raises a banner that will defy an Empire.
Caught between the Alliance and the Empire, the dakorian race is on the verge of civil war, and a council of elders has been convened. Reklin, still grieving a personal loss, must gain the respect of the council, before an old enemy can corrupt its members. But the threat is not what it seems, for beneath the Emperor’s shroud of diplomacy, a terrifying new weapon has been unleashed.
Book 3 of a Military Space Opera series from Ben Hale, Amazon best-selling author of The Augmented. It's perfect for lovers of both Star Wars and Star Trek, as well as fans of authors such as Chris Fox, J.N. Chaney, and Lindsay Buroker.

- Hale has a very limited understanding of dialogue and/or character traits the villains never believe there heroes know/have/can do/ the thing. "he's bluffing" "you expect me to believe _____" are his go to phrases. it's lazy writing.
- The blunt "friendship fixes everything," trope in this is starting to get annoying. "I was a crime boss but I made a friend and am a good guy now " is fine if it actually comes with some character development, but if they just change for no reason it gets cringy. like bad.
-He doesn't foreshadow it's more like he hits you over the head with a plot point.
-The characters really don't seem to understand how to read people.
-The guy who wrote this book probably should not be allowed to publish him book called "how to write like a boss."
-The story here is generally good and interesting. however the way that it's told leaves a lot to be desired.
Lackluster writing with a good plot
