I’m Paige Harper, and I clean up supernatural messes. But my personal life is something I can’t seem to straighten out.

I accidentally married a fae, and even though we've been divorced for years, Jax still manages to land me in hot water. Like, putting my house on the table at a high stakes poker game type of hot.

Now, he's been arrested for murder and the cops want to pin a series of vampire killings on him. I don't know if he did it or not. But I do know he needs to be at that poker game or else my house is gone.

In order to get Jax out, I turn to Nico, a one-eyed werewolf private detective, for help. Nico is a handsome, dangerous ladies man, and I have no intention of falling prey to his charms.

Although, that's easier said than done as the two of us begin crawling through the dirty underbelly of the supernatural world...

Meh

Intriguing premise in the preview but disappointingly executed. Some glimpses of humor and starts to interesting characters but otherwise tedious. Plot holes, lots of whining, and an and non-ending which was too confusing to even be called a cliffhanger. Decent narrator kept me from quitting early.

Torn

I am a little torn about how what to say. There were parts of this story I enjoyed, like the storyline. There were parts I didn't like and tried to skip, like the random crude comments. As a rule, I don't mind swearing, sex scenes, or the occasional crude comment but they just didn't work for me in this book. I think I would have liked it more if I had read it, not listened to it (if that makes any sense!).

I am willing to give this series another chance, but I I am leaning toward reading it.

Cleaning or Detective

What a fun and enjoyable listen. This story was easy to listen to with great characters some of whom will give you a laugh others you’ll be second guessing their motives. I love the idea of the Venus fly trap that was very creative. And just when you thought it was all going to be wrapped up nicely you get thrown a twist. Overall I enjoyed this book and the narrator has a pleasant voice to listen to.

Wow what a great find. First let me say I am so glad to have found this book. I loved the writers. I have never laughed so hard one minute, then gotten mad the next on behalf of the character. I seriously hope to see her get her revenge the next books. Now the narration wow just wow. I will be on the look out for more books from both the writers and the narrator loved everything way to go Ladies!

Entertaining and Diverting

I desperately needed to be diverted from stress in my life and at first, I was sure about this little story.. not that I am prude but the descriptive body parts were a little unnecessary and seemed to be there for "shock" value .... But in the end, nice story enjoyed and will listen to the second one.

Such an Awesome Read

I loved this one. The narrator was perfect. I already need the next one. Paige is a great character. I love the supernatural elements. Darren/Daphne is fabulous. I highly recommend this.

The narrator was really good. I liked how she did a whiny voice for Jax and a jerky voice for Brent. I'm a Nico fan what can I say. Now I have to wait for the others to come on audio. I've read the books they're fantastic backed up by the audio they can't be beat

surprisingly delightful

Narrated by: Carrie Coello 3.5-4 stars - did a nice job of distinguishing the characters, without going over the top with the 'Jersey girl' attitude/accent.

A, not quite, cozy mystery. Quirky 'Jersey shore' characters, with attitude and sass, surviving in a new paranormal world order.
While this does use some rough/crass language it's not over the top and it suites the characters portrayed. The heroine has a crusty exterior to hide her soft, gooey, and slightly emotionally bruised, heart.

Forget 5 stars, this is 10 STARS!!!!

Awesome/unique story, great world/character building, fun and truly addictive! Very glad I found this series!!!!

Supes

I second the other reviews concerned with the supe hate. Could have been better without the constant supe hate verbiage. Otherwise I found it an enjoyable quick read.
