Resumen del Editor

A Gotrek Gurnisson audio drama collection.

One of the most enduring characters in Warhammer fiction has made the leap to the Mortal Realms, and this series of audio dramas will give you fresh insight into what makes the Realmslayer tick.

Listen to it because...in the World-that-Was, Gotrek Gurnisson was a whirlwind of fury on a quest for redemption. In the Mortal Realms, he remains a whirlwind of fury on a quest for redemption - and where slaying the worst that the worlds of Warhammer have to offer is concerned, there's a lot to be said for consistency. Come along for the ride with the slayer himself with this collection of Gotrek audio dramas written by David Guymer.

An excellent intro to Warhammer/AoS

Though some terminology and plot points might go over a newcomer's head, the performances and sound work is more than enough to get anyone interested in the Warhammer/Age of Sigmar titles a very good taste of what it's all about.

great story

I will always love anything gotrek. only negative with this book is to much background noise over the voices. But story is great.

BRIAN BLESSED

Fantastic performances from everyone involved! Even the sound effects crew brought their A Game. Well worth listening to.

Phenomenal! Exceeded any expectations I had.

First, Brian Blessed brought Gotrek to life! A quick snippet of the sample and I was hooked. This audio drama brought nothing but smiles and the pride of dwarves is felt throughout the story. When Gotrek boasts and speaks of his deeds during battle, it brings chills. I haven't read all of the older books but I am definitely going to. So happy to have gotten this one! "It's a must have!"

Great book. Audio engineering isn't the best at ti

Great series. Audio engineering leaves a lot to be desired. Background noises and music sometimes plays over characters speaking and it's hard to understand them. Besides that, I highly recommend this.

We may never experience this majesty again

Brian Blessed is 85. Not sure how old he was when he performed this but people aren't immortal. Listen to this diamond of a performance in an amazong culmination of sound effects, a huge cast, music and phenomenal story. I love the character of Gotrek and seeing him enter the new world is a pleasure and a treasure! Don't sit on this. I would recommend everyone with the remotest interest in Age of Sigmar or Warhammer should start here. It's the ultimate popcorn fantasy.

Thanks Brian Blessed for lending your amazing voice and talent to this character. Well worth a credit.

Also features other great voice actors, in particular I love Jonathan Keeble! Many know him from other warhammers as a narrator but I knew him first as Derfel Kadarn of The Warlord Chronicles, or The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell!!!

Great Story for the most part.

This story mostly doesn't feel like Gotrek Gurrison, as he seems too joyful, and a bit too loud, from previous audios.

Otherwise, great narriation, great voices and acting, and a good long story length, to keep me painting.

Good voicework, mediocre writing/dialog.

The voice actors do good work in this audio drama, but Gotrek's characterization is hugely different from the previous entries.

Firstly, Gotrek (previously very grumpy and rarely willing to share even basic information) is constantly talking. I suppose that's necessary for an audio drama format. But the content of his dialog doesn't match his previous characterization at all. With his previous companions, he went decades while sharing almost none of his backstory, but here he's discussing his lost wife and child with an elf after only a few months. I rolled my eyes when he gave minute+ long speeches to tell other characters that he doesn't want to talk. He also freely discusses how much bigger and grander the cities in the Mortal Realms are, compared to even the great Dwarfholds of his past life, which I doubt his previous characterization would ever admit to anyone. I get the author is trying to show Gotrek has developed over the time he was off in the chaos wastes and transition readers into the Age of Sigmar setting, but it feels very forced.

For the most part, all the voice actors seem to do great. Brian Blessed is over-the-top, but fun as Gotrek. The weakest voices to me were most of the skaven characters, but that may have been more an issue of writing as well. Jonathan Keeble (who narrates the audiobooks in the series) sticks out as the best ratman voice to me and even some of his characters' lines felt extra silly.

Gotrek is fun, not sure how to feel about AoS

As a new fan to the Gotrek and Felix series I was interested in seeing the Age of Sigmar setting through Gotrek's eyes. This audio drama is great for people who like audio dramas. It has lots of hammy performances where people act their hearts out and has the feeling of a stage play in some ways. But as an introduction to AoS it falls flat.
I think the main way to put it is that the settings lack personality or character. The city of Hammerhall is introduced and I have NO idea what it would look like, what the people within the city are like, what level of magic or technology it has access to, who rules the city or why it's important or what kind of history it has. This is partially because the story isn't content to set down roots and just tell a darn story. It sends Gotrek across several the mortal realms, which sounds nice at first, but it ends up feeling as though you've stepped foot into a setting as vast as an ocean and as shallow as a puddle.
Maybe it's the fault of this being an audio drama or maybe AoS is just too big for any setting smaller than a whole mortal realm to matter, but this really didn't make me want to continue with AoS. I might try with an actual audioBOOK in the future, but for now I've lost interest.
