Recognizes and Calls out Evil in all its Forms

When the case surrounding two missing teen boys from the 1990s resurfaces and exposes lies and a botched investigation, emotions run high and old wounds resurface. Mix in the release of prisoners by the government due to covid 19 and at least one killer becomes free once again to roam. It is up to DI Alan Williams and the Major Investigation to sort through the brutal murders that seem to have a tie to the missing boys’ case. One thing is certain, the person they are after has a vengeance that runs deep.

The author, Conrad Jones, tells a story about a town with secrets and old pain. He touches on several different topics that are hot buttons for some, and for others not so much. The main topic is specifically the Catholic Church and its handling of criminal behavior within the church. The murders are brutal and described graphically. He places you in the story with his vivid descriptions. He takes his time building characters and throws in several plot twists. One cannot help but become entranced as the story unfolds.

The narrator, Richard Linford does a good job at narration. His accent and voice are fine, he speaks clearly and delivers the story at a steady and well-time pace. Although the story alone does this, Linford aids in keeping the listener interested.

This story is pointing fingers specifically at the Catholic Church but also at the police, politicians, and more. It is a reminder of how large entities operate when they come under attack – they rally together, cover tracks, bring in others to help, and importantly there is little to no concern about those they hurt. We see this almost every day in the news with the Priests, CEOs of companies, Police, Politicians, Hollywood, etc. Money, connections, and corruption always step up regardless of who they are or what they are. Jones reminds of life in a dark manner.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.
