Great for small group discussion

Our men’s group used this book as part of our recent book discussion. It raised a lot challenging questions, but in the end helped us understand GOD’s desires for us to be givers and servants with what he provides us.

The Strategies of Generosity

This book really helped me put things in perspective and gave me tangible, practical ways to become the philanthropic person I aspire to be! It was very informative, practical and full of interesting stories and data. I truly enjoyed the way the book contrasted different ideologies with stories, case studies and data. It made me think and better understand myself. I definitely had some “wow” I’m on the right track moments and some… “Girl you have some work to do!” I have always thought of myself as generous. At times balancing my career and spiritual goals have been a struggle. Grateful someone pulled these concepts together!

Convicting!

This book was a little slow to start with but I've got to say it hit me like a ton of bricks about midway through. I've recently quadrupled my income and became debt free. While reading this book we were contemplating the purchase of a 5k sq ft house and have put that on hold.

The 2nd thing that really affected me was the idea of putting big chunks of money into one ministry as opposed to small chunks of money into several. Right now we give a 1000 here and a 1000 there. There is a missionary we support realized if we just pull all of our money we could contribute over 10% of his annual cost. I'm also forming a small accountability group among Christian business owners I know.

This is one of those books I read out of obligation initially. I'm glad that I did it has affected my life.

Most Practical Book on Money

I found this book to be extremely beneficial for me. The specific examples and dollar amounts the authors used, along with their emphasis on spiritual principles, make the question of "How much do I need to keep?" become a realistic and practical question to ask. The book has inspired me not only to examine my thoughts and practices on money, but also has given me a new joy and anticipation for future giving. This topic is one that is hard for pastors to address, as it seems self-interested, but I feel that God has new levels of satisfaction in Him in store for those that give Him full control of this area of our lives. If the movement needs to start from the business leaders, then I think John and Greg have us off to a strong start. I'm excited to see the change it produces in this generation and in our world. I highly recommend this book for everyone, as we all have to stewart well the resources God has blessed us with.

I hadn’t realized there was so much I was missing with thinking about giving, and intentional constraints I can put in place (that aren’t a budget ) to better steward and give Gods money

Very interesting!

I’m 23 y/o and was looking for some good Godly principles for my money. This book is very eye opening. I wouldn’t of ever came to these conclusions on my own & tbh they are hard to swallow. All the greed inside of me wants to fight the idea of always staying humble & using the bulk of my money to give & help others. This books carries a message that will sit in my soul from now on & will grow and manifest throughout my life, even if right now I start small. Thanks boys!

They give a very unique posture on wealth in line with the scriptures and I think it has a lot of utility for the modern church and readers with a variety of backgrounds.
