Resumen del Editor

Have you ever noticed in the scriptures men are always going up into the mountains to commune with God? Yet in the scriptures, we hardly ever hear of women going to the mountains, and we know why, right? Because the women were too busy keeping life going; they couldn't abandon babies, meals, homes, fires, gardens, and several responsibilities to make the climb into the mountains!

As modern-day women, we may feel like we are never "free" enough from responsibilities, never quite enough, or holy enough to have the type of communion we want with God. But this is why God comes to women. Men have to climb the mountain to meet God, but God comes to women wherever they are. He knows where we are and the burdens we carry. He sees us, and if we open our eyes and our hearts, we will see him, even in the most ordinary places and in the most ordinary things.

Really gave me a lot to think about!

The “disclaimer” is short, but it’s there. They aren’t say God doesn’t come to men, they are just focusing on when God has come, both biblical and modern, to women.

It’s well written with lots of stories. The spirit touch my heart often while listening to this book. It helped me think of some scriptures in different light and bring further understanding. I will be listening to this one again!

Insightful

This beautiful book was written for an LDS audience, though I think it will resonate with any God-loving person. The author tells of spiritual experiences she and others have had, as well as stories of women in the scriptures told with insight, compassion and a knowledge. Her word choice is lyrical. The narrator is spot on and helps to bring a spiritual feeling while listening to the book. I loved this thought-provoking book.
