Sometimes beauty belongs in darkness.

Fairies don’t exist. At least that’s what Thomas Cavanaugh’s parents say. But the events that one night, when he follows a fairy into the cornfield on his parents’ farm, prove them wrong. Years later, after a troubled childhood and a series of dead-end jobs, he is still haunted by what he saw that night. One day he crosses paths with the beautiful young woman and the troubled young man he first met as a kid while under psychiatric care after his encounters in the cornfield. Has fate brought them together? Are they meant to join forces to save the fairie’s world and their own? Or is one of them not who they claim to be?

Unpredictable and otherworldly

I kept thinking the book was going one way and it went a totally different direction every time. It was spooky and intense throughout. I didn’t find myself bored at any point or forcing myself to keep listening. Loved it!

Good story.

I loved the actual story here. My only complaints fall under my own biases. I feel like the author could do a better job bringing his world to life. I didn’t feel immersed the way I normally would in a good book. The way he described some parts left me a little confused.

All in all, It was good enough to warrant moving on to the next book.
