Overall I really enjoyed the story although the characters annoyed me at times. The main issue is Emily Beresfords voice who does Katherines character. I dont think I have ever heard such a horrible voice in all the audible books I have listened to. Katherine is supposed to be beautiful and sexy and it was not portrayed properly with the narrator. It was like listening to a detective from an old 40s movie. Her pitch, cadence, delivery, and tone were absolutely horrible which almost made the book intolerable. The narrator that did Alexis voice was all that was needed and had the perfect voice for Katherine.

Story is okay… narration is rough

As others have said, Emily’s voice for the Katherine is painful and really took me out of it.

Awesome story, not so great on the narration

I really loved the story and how it just pulls you back and forth between the 2 main characters and was looking forward the book 2. I was a little upset to see the same person narrating the book however. She just does not have the soft caressing voice that some of the scenes in that book required. She reads great don't get me wrong but she does not acclimate well to the story. There was another narrator as well in this book who had a very nice voice and very calm and smooth. Love the book!

Narrator issues

Not a fan of how Emily Beresford narrates and it does not at all mix well with Felicity. At some points I actually wanted to skip over Emily's parts.

Worth the wait!

Cathy’s heart wasn’t ready for all the feelings coming it’s way. This book was a cliff hanger right up to the end, but it deserves to be heard. Off to my next adventure.

Torn

Overall I enjoyed the story. I read this first a while back and wanted to listen to it. I really hate to badmouth someone’s work, but I just can’t get through this review without saying that Emily Beresford should NOT narrate romance novels. Just no!!! Maybe she would be good for a thriller/suspense novel or something. She reads everything like it’s a chase scene. A couple of times I was able to tolerate her narration when she actually slowed down and softened her voice but that was rare.
Fortunately this novel is not only narrated by her. Felicity Munroe’s reading as Alexis was well done. The only criticism I have there is that when I read the book I heard Alexis with a less feminine voice. To me anyway, the author gave the impression Alex was more towards the butch side than femme but I guess that is mostly up to the reader’s interpretation.
So if you like Emily Beresford’s style, absolutely get this one. If you are more like me…see her name and cringe…maybe try the third book in this series or just read them instead. I love Diana Kane’s work and highly recommend.

The narrators Were great. The husky voice is sexy asf.

I cried. I laughed. I learned something new. I plan on devouring the next two books. Happy they were in my plus catalog.

Great listen

Being a nurse loved all the medical scenes… so enjoyed the MC and their journey together
Although the voice of Catherine didn’t match my internally imaginative voice, it was a wonderful break from reality!
Fun adult scenes as well…

Snoozing

This had so much potential, I would of like a little sizzle through out the book not all crammed at the end. Way to long of neither knows how the other feels. It was ok if your needing something but would not of purchased.

Yeah but no

What I like. Ok story in the beginning, it was interesting and I enjoyed hearing about the MCs chemistry . And then it was exhausting. The lack of immaturity and inability to communicated between the two MC was cringey and unbelievable. The story itself started off well the. it was nothing but sex. Not that I had a problem with that, I just wanted to hear more of the great story that it initially was. The narrator was not good. It was almost AI generated like.
