Horrid Narration!

As a bereavement therapist I refer a lot of books to my clients. Sadly the Audible version of this book will not be included. Its topic is definitely needed, its information is completely appropriate. The person chosen to read the book though, has to be the worst narrator I have ever heard. He doesn’t understand inflection, nor does he know how to read to appropriate punctuation. It made it a very long listen for a book that’s less than a 45 minute read. Miss Star’s topic would be much better served if she had this book re-recorded with somebody who actually knew what they were doing.

Plan it with a professional

I'm a funeral director, so I grabbed this just to see what it said. Most of the stuff is fairly sage advice, but my problem is that 99% of it is what you do when you walk into a funeral home and sit down to preplan. Your director is going to walk you through each step, and listen to everything you say that want done, and will more than likely ask you some things that you never considered.

My question is what qualifications that she has to give this kind of advice? Because in looking, she also tells you how to plan your wedding. She has a degree in social work from what I can see, so I really doubt her credentials. It looks like someone who thought I can tell people my ideas and they will listen because I have a Masters degree. Bollocks. The only thing I can really agree with her on is her saying that you should preplan. Otherwise, her writing is condenscending (In this chapter you will learn . . .). Really? I think I can figure that part out just by listening to the Narrator (Clinger, who does a fine job on conveying her convolluted message), or reading it myself if I have the book. Primers are for first graders. So, yes, I take umbrage with the crap that is being flung here.

You want advice? Call local funeral homes, ask for a general price list, make sure your money is going to go into an irrevocable trust, and if they can do that check and see if their prices fit your budget. If so, then make an appointment and go see them. That simple. They will walk you through EVERY single item she lists and then some. Make sure that you call around too, get a variety of options for costs, and most importantly make certain that they PRICE Guarantee so nothing hidden pops up later. THAT EASY!!!!!!

I hate to do this, but crap like this really irritate me.

Clinger, as I said, does a great job leading you through the maze Starr has laid out. He is easy to follow and understand. Good man, there. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

If this review helped, please press the YES below. Thank you immensely!!!

Narration and organization is horrific

The intention of this focus was to help ease, grieving people into making considered choices, the information is scattered, and the narration made me put the book down after about 10 minutes. I went to mortuary school so I know what I’m talking about when I say there are much better books out there.
