Resumen del Editor

In the second book in the Lexi Fagan Mystery series, Lexi finds a new job in the City by the Bay as a receptionist at a political think tank. Her life finally seems to be getting back on track when her boss is found murdered in his office. Lexi’s old friend, Detective Robert Reiger, pulls the young redhead into the investigation. As Lexi becomes Reiger’s “eyes and ears” inside The Freedom Institute, suspects seem to multiply by the day.

Fantastic!!

Although the various voices were not as distinct as I want, the variances could still be heard. The narrative is fantastic. It reads like a novel that you can't put down. Since it's an audiobook, you're not required to! It was equally as good as the other two in the trilogy. Regardless of the era her stories are set in, Amanda Quick is a fantastic storyteller. I'm a huge admirer, and the audio readings have just made me adore her more.

Well-described!

The Ladies of Lantern Street Series is outstanding as always. The Mystery Woman is a well-written novella that adheres to Jayne Ann Krentz's pattern. The only issues I've ever had with her works are that she always feels the need to explain every mystery in great detail, either by having her villains admit to every crime they committed or by having her main characters lay out every single truth. It becomes quite irritating. This is a really amazing audiobooks I must say.

The narrative was excellent,

The Mystery Woman is a tale written in the signature JAK/Amanda Quick fashion. A spunky heroine, a misunderstood hero, a pocket pistil, and a killer to capture (not too unique, but nonetheless in a style I do so adore). In the women of lantern street series, this is volume 2. The narrative was excellent, and it had a paranormal touch. (Justine Eyre narrated this and the preceding AQ book; while her accent is unmistakably different, you should give her a try since you might find her to be a welcome departure from Anne Flossnick.)

Awesome.

The gold standard for historical romantic suspense is Amanda Quick. Although her recipe may not be everyone's cup of tea, it has survived the test of time for decades. She like her heroines to be passionate, caring, and intelligent—but not in an obnoxiously "fiesty" way. Her protagonists are ordinary people who are intelligent, strong, wealthy, and rather cynical yet decent. What's not to love? This book is so good that it’s just awesome.

Really good.

As always, the narration was excellent. This has a fascinating twist, and I can already see how she will develop her next book by introducing new characters that you will probably recognize as the protagonists of succeeding novels. Although I am aware that others do this, I read Ms. Quick's works far enough apart that I did not see the numerous links until just recently. Wow, this really impressed me. Really good.
