Loved the story -But too much sex!

I loved the story but just too much SEX. I really do love it when there are sexy scenes as long as they enhance the plot but just to have it for sex's sake just doesn't do it for me. Sexy scenes are awesome as long as they are something that works within the plot. I just like a good story line. However, others might like it and I do have a fast forward button so that I can get back to the plot and I don't skip them all. It does make a 5 star book go down to 4 or 3 when it overwhelms the book at least for me it does.

Another great story....

Loved the adition to the series. At first the story started as if it was a different narrator. Then after a chapter or 2 the original voices returned. Can't wait for the next book, keep them coming....

Family

For Jesse the Mercury pack is his family, but so is Harley, even if she doesn’t realize it yet.
When the Mercury pack’s new neighbor thinks he can bully & blackmail the pack to get his way, things go bad fast.

Sooo good

Good God I absolutely love Jesse and Harley. Of course the spice is super spicy, but the story is so entertaining. I absolutely loved it. The relationship between Harley and Jesse is so strong it’s probable. You can feel it when you’re reading. Of course there’s lots of action, lots of drama and I absolutely loved it so much.

Weakest story in series

The author's and narrator's voices both sounded "off" in this book. I'm no prude as anyone who reviews my library can attest, but the inconsistencies in the storyline kept it from offsetting the heavy sex. ( ex: she's a musician performing at a nightclub; but at her mating ceremony she "doesn't like to be the center of attention". Where did I miss her stage fright or fear of performing? her angst and pushing herself to go out on the stage? Nada. Nichts. Nyet. If I'd read this book first, I would never have bought the others. I really got a feel in the work that Wright was spending time reading Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series (scents) and her Psy-Changeling series (cat & wolf shifters)....both of which are excellent.

Finally the Imprinting Story

We all love Wright's True mate themes but were wondering if the secondary characters were cheating themselves by imprinting rather than waiting for their true mate. The answer kids is no they weren't cheating themselves and by taking the imprinting theme on head on in this book she opened up a world of possibilities for her packs. They are no longer tied to just finding another wolf shifter in a world full of shifters.

The introduction of a new shifter species and different types of packs such as prides will broaden the world she created allowing for more humor and fun. The love is as good fated magic thing is pretty great too.

wasn't expecting that kind of shifter that for sure. so many new species' introduced and they can still have kids together. so awesome!

The Margay Shifter

I Love strong female main characters which is why I Love this series. Even submissive women in this story are strong. Not that Harley is submissive. Harley as a Margay shifter is just as clever and feisty as any wolf shifter. I just Love a woman that doesn't down and fights for what's right. Jesse is a strong wolf as any of them seem to be.
I was confused at why Kim was even around and who all these people were that Jesse was accused of having a relationship with.

Battle!

The villains are truly evil and the protagonists are flawed and misunderstood. There is a fair amount of frustration and way too much graphic sex, which seems really violent at times, BUT the battle scenes are suspenseful, tense and packed with action and, IMHO, worth all the whoopie the reader has to wade through or skip. Jill Redfield does an admirable job with the narration.

oh the drama

Jesse & Harley. TRIGGERS: drugs, judging, bombs, sexual assault, blackmail. Jesse's true mate died when he was a kid but for years he's been drawn to and had watched over Harley. Harley is half human, half margay shifter who prefers to live in the human world except now the extremists are sending her threatening messages. In order to protect who he wants as his mate, Jesse brings her to pack territory for protection. But past family drama and a new foe for the pack brings more trouble than just the extremists. This book was a little more involved. The pack has so much going on but there's also an internal struggle as well. Jesse and Harley are just as smoking hot as previous couples within the pack; only Harley is a cat and that makes her a little feistier. Loved it.
