Excellent story

This is a new author for me and I am not disappointed. I started reading the Wilder Family Series and circled back to this back because Anya was mentioned at the end of the last book!

Pretty good

The story is pretty good, if you’re looking for super spicy this isn’t it. But overall a good listen.

Love forbidden romances

The burly tough guy meets the tomboy younger girl after his wife dies and he has a daughter to care for… quoting sports and moving near his family this is a great forbidden story.

Isabel and Aiden

I loved that Isabel and Aiden find each other. They are both so closed off to relationships that them getting together is explosive once they finally let their walls down.

the book was deep with a great second chance love story ❤. strong dad male and great female stories line but the sweet and pure second chance love will make u on ur edge seat leak happy tears.

I'm not good at writing a review immediately upon finishing a book, but I wanted to get my 5 star review out there after reading some mixed reviews (after I'd read Forbidden).

I agree with one reviewer that the title is a little misleading. But I think the "forbidden" aspect is Aiden being unwilling to move on emotionally after losing his wife to cancer (prologue), as well as Isabel's consideration of Aiden as her boss, not to mention her childhood crush. I also 100% disagree with the "enemies to lovers" trope mentioned in the Audible version. There's nothing about Aiden and Isabel that ever said they were enemies.

It's obvious there's attraction from the first meeting. I loved the scene between Isabel and Aiden after Iz and Molly had their argument at the gym when Molly admitted to having invited their *mother* to the upcoming wedding.

Aiden's daughter Anya is a treat in this story. She's a bit of a daredevil, which culminates in a twist in the story where Isabel is injured while protecting Anya. Aiden takes Iz (and Emmett) to his home to watch over her for the night and it's the first time he starts to open up to her.

Once Isabel realizes that Aiden might never accept the depth of his feelings for her, she puts the brakes on the barely developing relationship because she has been waiting for the "right guy" for her entire life and she refuses to be the one who keeps trying only to get shut down time and time again. Mild familial interventions result in Aiden realizing that letting Isabel go without showing her and telling her how he feels would be a loss nearly equivalent to losing his wife 2+ years prior.

Als0 - I read some reviews that were disappointed that Aiden was still grieving after only 2 years and to that I say b*llsh*t. No one has the right to decide what's right for anyone else when it comes to the appropriate length of time for grief - and in Aiden's case, he'll carry that grief with him forever, but because he and Isabel opened up enough to love each other, he's got someone there who can only add comfort and joy to the rest of his life.

I recommend ALL of the Washington Wolves series of books and the Ward Sisters - I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite but Isabel and Aiden edge out Lia & Jude by a narrow margin. Both of their stories had me crying poignant tears toward the ends.

I really enjoy the story it was some thing different and I just love anything with Savannah Peachwood 💕 she is so sweet I love her voice it so soothing 💗 but I really love storyline too!!!!!
