an escape

you really get lost in the love of the main characters! if feels like you are them for a few moments the way you root for them.

Male Narrator

Great story! Love everything about it but I feel like a the male narrator is an English Teacher. Reading with voices but doesn’t understand her “swollen lips” after the kiss. He’s reading a story and hasn’t FELT it.

too much whiney inner dialog

I normally like Sariah's books, but this one had too much whiny inner dialog. I skipped many sections just to get through.

Cute but too long

The basis of the story was cute. The amount of time spent and repeating of the same problem got very old.

This was a really good book! I liked this author, I'll definitely have to read more!

Had potential but drawn out

The story had a lot of potential but there was just too much angst. 80% of the inner dialogue was how they liked each other but they didn't communicate it like grown ups. It quickly became repetitive, especially in the first 5 hours of the book. Fewer words were dedicated to the meat of the story and to the characters actually getting to know each other. This was my first book by the author. I'm always looking for clean reads, so I will still check out their other books based on comments by other reviewers.

Too trite, overdone roles

I usually love this author, but this was a flop. It felt like someone else wrote it. The male voice doesn’t match the character and the plot “twist” was so obvious. I honestly couldn’t finish and I’m so bummed I used my audible credit on this.

Not like other Syriah Wilson books

i love clean romance and Syriah Wilson has been a good to author of mine. This book was very different from her others. I stopped it two hours from the end because I was just tired of the constant make out descriptions. The couples fantasies, dreams and actual making out take up about 85% of the book. There's very little story otherwise. So if you're a Syriah Wilson fan, this is a departure. It was not for me.

I can’t take anymore

Unfortunately, this is my first book by this author. I see other reviewers saying this is a departure for her and most of the other books are good reads. I’ll have to take them at their word because I can’t take any more of this book and won’t be finishing it. All the dialogue is so uninteresting that I easily find myself distracted/mind-wandering and wondering what I’ve missed (not enough to rewind though).
This is just another book with immature characters who like each other but won’t come right out and have an honest conversation with each other so we get to listen to their internal dialogue lamenting the same things over and over again. No thanks.
