Resumen del Editor

In the groove. In the zone. A period of intense focus and high performance that feels effortless. Flow.

In a near future Toronto, a naïve young scientist named Kel invents a device to produce the mysterious state of "flow" on demand, hoping to unleash humanity's creative potential on our greatest problems. But the prototype she invents to record and then play back the neurological and physiological states associated with flow can be used to record other mind-body states. Her prototype is stolen, duplicated, and put to use for an astonishing range of causes, some good, and some very bad.

As Kel struggles to regain control of her device, it threatens to destroy her legacy and upend the lives of several others, until all uses of the technology converge on the most unexpected and unintended consequence of all.

Great read

This was a great read. Multiple story lines that intercept in small and large ways. Every character was believable and most were likable. I felt the technology was likely something that could be in our future. The scientist were actually smart unlike some scientists characters in many books I’ve read. I never felt like any of them needed a good shaking. Lol
Narrations by Brian Callahan was exceptional.

A Sci-Fi thats coming to reality and worth reading

*This book was given to me by the author at my request, and I provided this voluntary, unbiased review.*

4/5

This book challenges some scientific and human thought concepts that are told through multiple viewpoints (multiple main characters). Because of this changing FOV every chapter, we get progression of different story arcs happening at the same time, but also hinders robust character development. With that aside, there is plenty of action and thought-provoking ideas coming from the story. If man was given a a device to use for the betterment of man-kind, would they use it for such, or would they misuse it entirely? I think the book perfectly outlines all the aspects of this question, plus more. It's a science fiction story that is scary because I believe it gives us a rather true glimpse into our future as a species. I praise the book for dealing with these very real fears in a fictional setting, while provoking these thoughts in us the reader. I would recommend this book.

~Echoes Of Another~

This audiobook was totally enjoyable and a lot of fun. Honestly, I didn't really get the impression that I was going to like this one. But it only took the first 15 pages or so to change my mind. It really got me thinking about what things would be like in the future. I kind of wish that there was more references to what year it actually was, unless I missed it, which is totally possible. But no biggy, I'm just the curious type. I really would love to read more from Chandra Clarke. And the narration was excellent! Overall, I definitely recommend this one for anyone who enjoys a little realistic Si-Fi.

Intriguing dystopian world

This is a creepy book because it is all too plausible, and set very much in our current world (almost). I lived many years in Toronto and so the locations resonated strongly with me.

The plot works, but it does feel a bit like the book is longer than it needs to be. Overall though, I found it an enjoyable listen.

The narrator was great. I did find it a bit odd though to have a female author, female lead character and male narrator. Despite this, it worked and didn’t detract from the story at any point.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review.
