Great Great Book

Great Story, I love the narrators they made it very interesting 👍 😀 👏

Great noir fiction

Ignore those other reviews saying Balsacci isn’t at his best here. They just don’t understand the genre. In fact this proves the complexity of Baldacci’s talent that he can write a genre so accurately that I feel like Humphrey Bogart is just around the corner. You do have to get over the political incorrectness on display but that’s how it was in 1953. My single criticism is with the narration of the female characters. They come off as Betty Boop characters with squeaky voices and over exaggerated breathlessness. Give me a break. But otherwise a great novel and a great listen.

Worth every penny

The story line fascinating. Characters real Reading and voices spot on. I recommend to one and all.

Great narration!

The narration was perfect! The momentum, the “punching up” of an event, the smoothness of story thread, and the tone were all well-balanced.

I listen to 4-5 books per month. Regularly I hear books mangled/destroyed by poor narration (sing-songy, inappropriate highlighting, bad accents, etc). Apparently authors are not allowed input(?)

Best Archer!

Great story! Had me guessing. Fast read. Painted deck and listened to it all! Next Archer please!

The Archer series has become one of my favorites. Already eagerly waiting on the next book.

1950s Type of Hollywood Mystery

Very good story. Similar to old Perry Mason shows. Nice use of dialog and well-developed story.

What we always expect when listening to a Baldacci murder mystery. Listened to the entire book on a long car trip!

Strong 3rd book finish!!!

I will say that when I originally read the first Archer book in this series I didn't think that Mr. Baldacci would be able to capture my attention, especially when I was just enamored with the Puller series. but I must say that whomever you thought it was in the beginning didn't turn out to be as a result. I love the way Mr. Baldacci is able to weave all characters together in order for it to make sense. GO READ ALL OF THEM IN ORDER.......NOW!!!

Great storyline

I’ve always been impressed with David’s novels. Story started what I thought was a bit slow but soon realized need the back ground information. Was intrigued with the entire novel. Great narration.
