Resumen del Editor

When Justin's long-lost sister, Ivy, shows up at the funeral for Elyssa's brother, Jack, it seems like the family reunion Justin has long hoped for is finally here. But Ivy isn't interested in playing Barbie or hanging out at the mall with her big brother. She's on a mission against evil, and Justin is at the top of her big-bad-meanies list.

Before Ivy can carry through on her threats, Justin finds out that she's been kidnapped. The kidnapper is none other than Maximus, a self-styled rebel leader of his own army of vampires who once kidnapped Justin's father. He also happens to be a world-class douchebag. Despite Ivy's homicidal inclinations toward Justin, loyalty to family leads him to go after Ivy and settle things with Maximus once and for all.

Unfortunately, nothing goes according to plan, and Maximus's minions capture Justin. But even as Justin fights to free himself, he discovers Maximus plans to use Justin's incubus blood to fuel his quest for world domination. And the rogue vampire isn't even at the top of the food chain. Far more powerful forces stand behind him: Daelissa the insane angel, Maximus's vampire sire, and, even worse, Justin's grandparents and, quite possibly his own mother.

Nice Installment John.

The main character need a to grow quicker to the cruelty of his world. although he"s only had a few weeks, the nonstop violence and blood he has seen should have at least stopped the swirling of the stomach. Overall it still is good.

sensationally Supernatural

I was on the edge of my seat while listening and laughing at other parts so hard I almost fell over. It is a non stop romp through the supernatural genre and it has good elements of super natural diversity

Narrator needs to learn proper pronunciation

Series like this tend to have repetitive storylines while progressing through the main story arc. I get that and can put up with that as well as some bumpy character development this author has. The story is basically a CW soap opera. It’s a good way to indulge in some escapism. But I find nothing takes me out of a story faster than hearing words that don’t make sense then realizing it is because they’ve been mispronounced. For example, this story and the last one spends a fair amount of time in Columbia. The author references the capital, Bogotá. The narrator has to say this word repeatedly in multiple character voices including Hispanic characters. It is laughable at first quickly ramping up to rage inducing to hear it repeatedly pronounced as BAGOATA, instead of Bogotá (BO GO TA)! The narrator did the same thing with the word belied. Instead of pronouncing it BE LIED, he kept saying BELLIED. There were others as well, but I understand I’m nitpicking. The point of these stories, though, is to escape into a fantasy. With audible books this can be more difficult or easier depending on how well the narrator does their job. This narrator does an excellent job differentiating the different characters with his ability to create varied and distinct voices. I will continue to listen to the books he narrates, but it will continue to be a struggle to lose myself in the story if he continues to misread words.

main character is infuriating.

4 Books in I'd hope the main character would be slightly less stupid. Yet here he is the very opening of book 4 thinking about pointless things and never thinking about actually meaningful things. You left your crying grieving lover at her brothers funeral to chase a girl you thought would ideally be how your sister would look, even after that he repeatedly says nothing he says will change her mind yet he continues to try to change her mind for no other reason than the plot wanted us to know his sister doesnt like him. The story isnt the worst thing and romance Is cool, but the character is a squeamish half incubus who won't change and for some reason cant make ur his mind on what age restriction he gears towards. You cant tell me he will call people assholes, but he says the weird awkward censorship a grade schooler uses. really I think the primary reason I keep listening is Allisa is more interesting than the main character. I realize that this is mid series and I hope it gets better. The book just needs a main character who isnt COMPLETELY stupid. Rant on the main character over, while Justin's development has halted since book 1, the side characters are at least interesting. I never find I've mixed identities between them, and while his parents are special they arent a cop out. I also want to note that while Justin is infuriating and extremely cliche at times, the book to this point is set in the span of a few weeks. while it means justin is always busy and doing something the tradeoff is justin has no time to grow as a character. he has this whole magic line that to this point has been siderailed because of immediate plot demands. If the book finds a good place to hiatus justin so he can grow into someone semicompitent and interesting. It's a little late for the review to be helpful to the Author and I do want to point out that this review is more a review on the collection to this point. I have not read the remainder of the series yet but plan to. While it has some infuriating MC issues the side characters are interesting and theres never really a time where we cut off to see the antagonist being antagonistic. Some people might like that, I find it to be overused so thankfully these generic villains are left generic. The series has potential from this point so I hope it gets to fix its issues later in the series.
