wonderfully immersive narration

I loved listening to this book in the author’s familiar
voice. He certainly has a way with words. This Would be a wonderful book to listen to in the dreary days of winter as you await the gardening season. He took a couple of jabs at Americans that stung a little but overall a wonderful book.

Monty Don is wonderful.

This book in his voice, is heavenly. Makes you want to garden all day everyday. I will order a hardback copy of the book for all the amazing info. But I will listen again and again.

A nice chat…

Monty never fails to entertain and illuminate. I listened as I gardened and it felt as if we were having a friendly chat. Yes, the conversation was one-sided…just as I imagine it would be should I be lucky enough to meet him in person.

Excellent gardening book.

If you are a passionate gardener - this is an essential book. Appropriate for both the new gardener and the life long addict.

One of my new favorite books.

I loved this book, and I have enjoyed listening to it as I putter around in the garden. Monty Don is a fantastic author, and he writes about the garden and the natural world in a way that is incredibly appealing. And also very down to earth, and lacks much of the garden snob stuff I feel I’ve come across in other books. Each page is clearly suffused with his love of plants, planting and gardening and he’s included a wealth of information about each season and many different types of plants in this love poem to the garden.

Beautiful language, great, honest and practical gardening knowledge. Monty teach how to observe nature and share his very intimate relationship with his garden.

His voice is fantastic and calming, perfect for winding down after a busy day.
Note: I did buy the book so I could have pictures and found it great for getting the spelling on certain plants.
