The story was your typical second-chance love story with a nice cast of likeable and unlikeable characters. There's an interesting twist in the middle of the book that had us doing a double-take. It explained why things had ended up the way they had for the hero and heroine as we thought, "So THAT'S why he did what he did!!". What made for excellent tension was that the READER is the only one who knows the secret! In fact, we were mad on the characters' behalf.

And when the truth came out, we let our petty flags fly! It was a very nice and well-deserved comeuppance!
