Great introduction into Ya Fantasy!

I do normally cut my teeth on some books that are a bit larger more complex and complicated, so I’m not picking up many Ya books these days! That being said I think that this story was interesting I loved the Dragon Ball inspiration expressing itself in the magic system! I do think I could have seen a couple slight plot holes getting the story going, and some of the characters still have yet to really express their individuality! But I think especially for a younger audience or even if you have love for some younger oriented stories like the original Dragon Ball, I think you will find this a fun and enjoyable read!

First audiobook I've listened to.

The beginning was a bit slow for me, but I couldn't stop listening when they got to school. One of the better books I've had lately. I'm very excited for the next one. Thank you TikTok for getting me to this book!

mediocre at best

this was a real struggle to finish and is poorly written, the author needs an editor badly or a better one. constantly switching perspectives mid paragraph, repeating the same information over and over again, sometimes in the same paragraph and facepalm worth bouts of convenient exposition dumps.

maybe the story could be decent if it was better written.

I’m not very good at putting my thoughts into words so I’ll just say it’s mehh it’s not bad but doesn’t grab my personal attention or make me want to grab the next book right away I still will just to see if that one grabs my attention

Good book and great story

Loved the book and the story was great but I would have loved a bit more detail and a slower progression. I felt like there could have been more and can’t wait to see this author grow and make some amazing books.

Definitely for a YA audience.

This novel came across to me via Tiktok and was advertised as anime-esk story and action, but it got the very skin milk of those aspects. I believe that for a YA reader, they would be very entertained, but the world building and details were lacking for my liking. The plot and "twists" were predictable, and I found myself involuntarily shaking my head when certain villains or deaths were revealed. overall, it's still an entertaining story, just not for me.

A Beautiful Introduction.

As someone who loves stories and worlds that are magical, I have to say this was an amazing story and beautiful introduction into the world. As I wrote this I've already purchased the second book and look forward to starting it as soon as I finish writing this. The way the action picks up and settles and how every interaction has an underlying threat the story keeps you on your toes. I'll be purchasing and extra copy for my sister in-law for her birthday. Well done David.
