It's a race against time as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace tries to stop a grieving mother from taking the law into her own hands in Dead Man's Grip, by award winning crime writer Peter James.

A university student is killed in a tragic traffic accident while riding their bicycle. When two of the drivers involved are hunted down by a sadistic killer, Grace knows that the third driver, Carly Chase, may be next.

Carly, a solicitor, believes hiding is not an option and heads to New York to speak with the cyclist’s mother. But Grace knows about the mother’s underworld connections and that the family will stop at nothing to take an eye for an eye . . .

Although the Roy Grace novels can be read in any order, Dead Man's Grip is the seventh thrilling title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Not Dead Yet and Dead Man's Time.

Now a major ITV series, Grace, starring John Simm.

Reseñas de la Crítica

Peter James has penetrated the inner workings of police procedures, and the inner thoughts and attitudes of real detectives, as no English crime writer before him. His hero, Roy Grace, may not be the most lively cop, nor the most damaged by drink, weight or misery, but he's one of the most believable
Peter James’s cop Roy Grace has put the Brighton of Graham Greene into the shade
Gripping Plot • Excellent Book • Engaging Characters • Cohesive Storyline • Intense Suspense • Pleasing Interpretation

Audible has sold this book with two different covers. Usually when you're browsing, if a book is in your library, you will see this indicated along with your ratings if you graded the book.
I thought this was a new Roy Grace novel! Within twenty minutes I was having a bad deja vu experience. There was no indication on the book's display page that I already owned it, and when I typed the name into the search window in my library, it did not show the previous purchase.
This is an excellent book, and I rated it five stars when I bought it the first time, (last October, it turns out).
Audible needs to rectify this asap.

I bought this twice

Great book so only lasted four days as I couldnt stop listening. the narrator was different from previous book so some of the characters didnt sound rhe same but still a great narrator! not a bad thing to say about the book or the narrator

Very well detailed and fascinating to see how the plot came together. Brilliant story very much enjoyed. Thank you.

Enjoyed the book as I have the rest of the series but preferred David Bauckham as narrator; he brought the characters to life!

Another great storyline. A student is killed in a motor accident, and his mother (who has ties to the US Mafia) wants to take revenge on the 3 drivers who were involved in the accident. Soon, two of the drivers are dead and the third fears for her life. It was a great listen. Jamie Glover is the 3rd narrator of this series, and he was excellent. Not sure why he only narrated one of the books, his interpretation was pleasing, unlike that of the previous narrator, who fortunately only narrated books 5 & 6. It is very jarring to adjust to a new narrator when one listens to a series. It appears that Daniel Weyman, the original narrator, is in the process of recording all the books, which is good news.
