I like to spread the word when I come across a book that excites me. I read Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor last weekend (sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone) and I'm all fired up about it. Thank you, Ms. Taylor, for a thrilling couple of days. I am in your debt. (Warning readers: this is one of those series that will have you tearing at your hair and gnashing your teeth waiting for the next installment. Be prepared.)

The second instalment is much darker, with more epic battles, suffering and loss . . . The ending is absolutely incredible - with a twist that completely catches you by surprise, leaving you dying to find out what happens next.

Plunges us into a world of beauty and horror . . . intricately plotted . . . it's a book that flies between worlds on blood-tipped wings and grips like a magical vice.

Captivating characters and amazing narrative - the images in my mind are so vivid! Can't wait for next one!

Tenía ganas de seguir con la trilogía

Ha pasado bastante desde que leí el primer libro pero ya tenía ganas de seguir con la trilogía.

Este segundo libro me ha parecido más lento que el primero. Aún así me ha parecido entretenido y era necesario para situar la historia.

Me encantan los personajes, tanto Karou y Akiva como Zuz y Mik. Y me ha gustado ir conociendo mejor otros personajes.

La magia de este mundo me parece fascinante, sigo habiendo leído pocos libros sobre quimeras y me está gustando mucho.

En este libro sufres un montón por los personajes, cada uno está librando una batalla interna y es frustrante. Pero justo eso es lo mismo que les hace crecer como personajes.

El final no me lo esperaba para nada, me ha sorprendido un montón.

Tengo ganas de leer el último y saber cómo termina esta historia.

It's interesting that even though I have already read all 3 books and loved them, listening to them brings a whole new quality to them.

A "page turner"

Khristine Hvam reprises her role as narrator in this 2nd entry in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series and delivers a performance that raises Laini Taylor's solid writing to a higher level.

Despite bordering on an over-reliance on "convenient moments", Taylor has managed to write a novel that is both gripping and exciting that somehow transcends the medium and becomes an auditory "page turner". I sometimes get the feeling that the book was written with narration in mind.

For anyone looking to read a YA/Teen novel with elements of fantasy, this is a series that deserves attention.
