didn't know this occurred

I really liked this book it opened my eyes to a situation I didn't know occurred

good story, horrible performance.

I had a very hard time trying to listen to this book. had I read the book instead of listening to this awful performance, I might have enjoyed the book more. the reader messed up all the korean words and the performance of individual characters reminded me of a female version of William Shatner's acting in star trek. don't get me wrong, I love William Shatner but her reading was so over the top and confusing, I almost didn't finish the book.

Excellent compelling story

Excellent story but almost stop listening because narrator was so flat, monotone. she definitely does not do the book justice.

Really awful narrator. So distracting!

Book and story are interesting and it’s a unique subject and loved the way the book was constructed. Wish I’d bought the ebook instead, narrator was distracting and unnatural in her word emphasis and pauses. Agree with reviewer who likened the narration to Shatner’s odd delivery and bad acting in the original Star Trek.

This story needs to be told, but not by this narrator

This story is horrifying and graphic. I had no idea this happened to many women in Korea.
The storyteller was so robotic it was such a turnoff. Read the book, instead of this Audible.

history combined w a good story..hoping fir a rhird book in this series.. get it

great book

this is an amazing story about the women in Korea during and after the second world war it is heart-wrenching heartwarming brilliant sad beautiful. Plus I learned a lot about Korea that I would have never known. I highly recommend this book and I don't do that very often.

Horrible performance!

I was looking forward to this book because the background history is very interesting and it got great reviews. Well, I could not get past chapter 6 because of the performance. Overly dramatic, bad acting!

once i started it i didnt want it to end! Amazing Storytelling! Absolutely loved it!

I was really... horrified. There is so much to cover when a child is in school and learning about the world. I know not all world events can be covered but... never, never had I heard about this. I want to thank the narrator, Valerie, for offering me this book. I am off to Google the besheeshus out of this slice of (eye opening) history
