Excellent Story

I love it. Kept my attention throughout entire book. Wasn't over saturated with love scenes like previous books

Absolutely loved it

This book is a little different but fits in well with last one and the gates. I loved the heroine and found that Siv adjusted to the times. Can’t wait to see where the story of the gates lead and what will happen to justice and The carpathian locked in the underworld.

A Romantic Adventure

I loved this book. The fast paced hidden dangers that surround them, keep Vasilisa and Afanasiv relationship on an intriguing romantic path full of deceit and betrayal. Definitely a must read.

Worth the wait!

I have been hooked since Dark Prince was released so I look forward to each new story. This book has all of Christine’s signature touches. I was very pleased how the lifemates didn’t have lots of personal conflicts with each other. They knew and rejoiced in finding each other. There were some very intriguing storylines and hints of stories to come. I hated when Jim said the end lol but then I always do. Love the pace and flow of this one

This was a wonderful love story. Action from the start, humor, twists, turns and leave you wanting more. Absolutely Amazing!!

I had a tough time with this narrator.

Sadly I had to keep taking breaks to get through the hours and hours of this narrator. He seems to read with emphasis but there is little to no differentiation between the character’s voices. Which means it ends up feeling as though he is droning on. There were too many times I had to backtrack to figure out who was talking, if it wasn't abundantly obvious. Lack of voice differentiation was at its worst during quick back and forth dialog. He has little modulation and uses only a few of the same tones over and over. That also means his characterizations lacked depth. He is certainly not doing this many characters (or the plotline) justice, they all end up sounding the same. There is no change of intensity or tone between quiet moments in the plot and the action/fight scenes. He might be ok to read a short story but for this length book one needs an actor/performer. I would say the narrator is bored with the story and is plowing through it. That’s how I ended up feeling…getting to the end seemed painfully endless.

Another awesome book by THE BEST author. I love where her storyline is going, and love that she has lessened the sex and continued with the story arc more!!! Back to the old way and I cannot get enough!!! Thank you so much!! I am ready for the next one!!!
