Resumen del Editor

Tapping at his window, perching atop his daughter's grave, why will the crow not let Patrick mourn in peace? According to superstition, a single crow is an omen of bad things to come, so why does Patrick feel compelled to leave his already broken life behind and follow his stubborn uninvited guest into the deep woods. And what delights await?

Immersive and scary

This immersive audio experience has voices, sound effects and music, that builds and builds to a horrifying conclusion.

The book opens with Patrick, deeply grieving the death of his daughter at her own hand. He follows a curious crow into the woods.

Flash forward to Vanessa and Scott, exes who each get an eerie night visit by a crow and then find a mysterious invitation to a Halloween party. They decide to attend with their plus ones.

The two couples are led deep into a forest, become separated and meet the Crow People. A cult that has an agenda of revenge.

Very tense, fully enveloping, there were points in the story that I was IN THAT FOREST totally EXPERIENCING THST HORROR. Crows is a gratifying 3 hour event that I listened to while driving at night through the dark Pennsylvania countryside. At times I had to turn it off, like whoooooo boy, I was gripping the wheel with my shoulders hunched to my ears!

Nicely drawn characters, easy to follow dialogue plus inner monologues, whispered and echoey, that revealed true characters. I would have loved to know more about Sophie. I liked her character and a traumatic past was hinted at but not revealed.

All-in-all, a great audio theatrical experience.

Fantastic and atmospheric horror story

Ok, so first, the story. It started with such a deep sense of loss and grief that it took me off guard. This part was written so, so well. The tone from the very start is one of unease and sadness, which is carried through to the end. The story picks up once a group of four friends set out to a mysterious Halloween party. It quickly becomes unsettling and this is where you knew they are in trouble. Once they get to the party, the group gets split up and chaos happens. I won't go into details, but the party scene was probably one of my favorites. It was so joyous and whimsical and such a stark contrast from everything else that was going on.

The audio version of this book was fantastic. It had multiple voice actors/actresses and full sound effects. The cawing is seared into my brain. There were several scenes that were almost too disgusting, but I loved it.

Grief of crows

You are introduced right away to Patrick’s grief, it is palpable. Since Patrick’s daughter’s death he has been followed by crows. They are everywhere. Two couples receive invites to a Halloween party with a crow’s feather attached. When they get to the party it is full of
Crows and crow people.
People dressed as crows. They want revenge, a crow never forgets. I enjoyed the theatrical audio production, the soundtrack and sound effects really made you feel a part of the novella. A gory, fun, revenge, love story.
